MGS5: gently caress youuuuuuuuu episode 29. That was so loving stupid. I basically sprinted around in circles the whole time while Quiet pinged off the Skulls. Once she had killed a couple, I could slow down and take enough time to aim a rocket launcher.

I just sprint around in circles and let ~mai sniper waifu~ shoot them all.

On the extreme version of Quiet's sniper duel mission, the one where she one shot kills you, I figured out how to beat it easily. You just bring a bigger gun. Like, a tank.

I tried that the first time and she just skipped away just before it landed. Pretty hard to skip away from tank shells though!

XCOM, XCOM 2 and Mount & Blade: Warband all have my highest hour tallies. Now I just watched Ironclad and want to fire up Warband again https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EymKZBG0-bc

I finished mission 50 on MGSV, but now I dunno if I have the motivation to grind everything up afterwards. Especially since it will mean losing ~mai sniper waifu~ without the butterfly emblem in place.

The regular one, or the ridiculous one where she kills you in one shot? I mean, I have enough tanks in inventory for the latter case, but I'd rather not do that over again e: I know this got posted in another thread, but since it's on topic here for the moment, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoRYWinS_u8

Ok so the best line out of that porn parody was "Uh and boss, we have enough farm animals back at base, so if you could stop airlifting them back, that would be great."

ME2 had the best one-liners. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pIrsQdjtAI Also I thought that the Femshep voice was way better than Dudeshep. Dudeshep sounded like a bored IT guy.

Something like that, yeah. My deployment time already showed me that nothing I do will ever make a difference, I don't need movies reminding me of that.

The tabletop 40k is sperg central. Some of the PC games are good though. Some of the novels are legit good too, but it's from a couple good authors. Most are not that great.

For real, ME2 was always Grunt + Miranda for me, both for Krogan shotgunning and dat rear end. (Side note it's hilarious to me that if you GIS "Miranda dat rear end," exactly what you'd expect comes up.) ME3's real flaw was no Krogan teammate outside of the Citadel DLC.

Femshep's voice actress is a gigantic improvement over dudeshep. The latter sounds like a bored IT guy; the former sounds like a proper xeno-killing badass.

I've never played a Far Cry game, but if it has massive glacially carved landscapes it could be interesting. Or maybe that's just my longing to go back to Glacier national park talking. A similar reason had me reinstall FONV for the Honest Hearts DLC a year ago.

Man I got Witcher 3 on sale and I can't even be arsed to put hours into that. Feels like my gaming enthusiasm has gotten more and more dulled at this point. Now when I think of some giant open world game with crafting and quests and a unique leveling system, all I can think is "gently caress, that sounds like so much WORK."

Or just go with games that don't have massive graphics requirements. On deployment I was as happy as a pig in poo poo just playing M&B: Warband and XCOM when waiting on convoys.

XCOM and XCOM 2 are good for that. Having separate missions gives you pretty good stopping points.

I enjoyed the hell out of XCOM 1 and never installed any mods. I mean other than the expansion, but that's a given. Robo-punching dudes off of rooftops and into cars is the best.

# ¿ Sep 14, 2017 14:14 |

The expansion is great because you can use MECs to punch people into cars, and that makes the cars explode. There's tons of other improvements, but if that doesn't sell you I don't know what will.

DOW III free weekend. Installed it, got up until about halfway through the third mission, quit and uninstalled. So disappointing. I can't put my finger on why other than it just felt like it had no soul.

Nuclear Tourist posted:That's a bummer, I had a ton of fun with the first Dawn of War. The whole game is just overly bellicose space marine bluster I assume? Not even. I'd have loved that. The dialogue and everything just seemed wooden and fell flat. Both the writing and the voice acting. The gameplay didn't grab me at all either. For the record I loved the first two DOW games. Hell I started the first one in the middle of my first deployment when I was on a tiny no shower poo poo burning COP and that's what started me off on 40k.

Finally finished the XCOM 2 expansion. Had to force myself to stop victory lapping. Once I killed all the chosen things became absurdly easy. Had fun, but the tension evaporated in the late game.

Which I also hit with base level tech.
