I don't know how it does it, but Arlo and Janis strikes me as the most relate-able and realistic comic in the thread. It's really good at it.

This one really made my blood boil for some reason. It's just so goddamn lazy and smug and FUNKY WINKERBEANY that I just made an audible groan at it.

I can't tell if that's the one armed character or not because all of the panels hide it.

Goddammit now someone mentioned it I'm hearing the laugh track too.

My one disappointment with the new Lasagna Cat is that they got rid of that one ridiculous laugh on the laugh track.

This is also true in other countries: here in Italy, for instance, everything involving rice (i.e.: risotto, which is generally long and laborious to prepare) has a two people minimum rule in most places.

It's nationally syndicated via GoComics by Universal Uclick, which was created in 2009 when Universal Press Syndicate merged with Uclick, so I'm going to keep posting it. *nyah nyah*. Anyway, let's face it, comic syndication and national readership has changed since this thread began over a decade ago. Barkeater Lake is also a webcomic, and was first published directly to GoComics.

However, I admire your purism, ShortSpecialBus, and it just so happens that I have been planning on bringing on some old-school content to bring us back to the true roots of this thread: For Better or For Worse.

As far as I've seen, on September 13, 2010, Lynn Johnston started writing up running commentary on some of the strips that are being republished, on the official website. It's interesting reading.

I don't know if it's been mentioned in the five hundred comics megathreads we've had, but in Percy Crosby's first Skippy novelization, Skippy's friend Sooky dies in an accident while gathering firewood from a building site at night. Crosby wasn't about to depict that in the comic, but Sooky did disappear from the strip and Skippy began writing copious letters to his dead friend ("When you used to be here, Sook...")

This strip got amazingly profound at times.

I would like to learn more about this, if you have any resources/information!
