First movie of the year was Upstream Color. Didn't understand it properly until the end, and at that point I had invested so much time into trying to make sense of what was going on that I had mostly ignored how pretty it was, and was slightly offended at the rather mundane resolution. Eh.

While we are at it, whats the term for a scene transition where the sound of the next scene starts before the last one is finished? It's always jarring and I don't quite get what the intended effect is supposed to be.

Convincing CelticPredator to post his script even though he was reluctant to do so and then ridiculing it here was quite the dick move. Maybe this is how criticism is expressed in film school to people who have learned to grow a thick skin, but that's sure as hell not how you treat someone in a non-professional environment like this thread. Especially if you're not a colleague but someone who claims to be a (n internet) friend. There's a certain responsibility that comes with being in a position to give qualified critiques, and that includes not publicly making GBS threads all over well meaning amateurs who may not necessarily look up to you as a role model, but at least see you as someone whose opinion they trust and value.

Here's a top tier rice recipe: Make a small indentation into a hot bowl of rice, pour in a raw egg, add soy sauce and whatever spices you want, scramble it up. Bam, japanese dish whose name I can't remember, maybe don't google bukkake eggs at work.
