I generally skip the guests on talk shows unless I'm really interested in them; I just don't have the time to watch everything I want to so have to cut things out where possible. TDS is only ~22 minutes in the first place, but at least the guest segments chop off maybe 1/3 of that. I watch the first segment of The Late Show and fortunately it cuts the 60 minutes down to about 15.

I used to skip the guests on Jon's Daily Show, especially when they were actors and celebrities promoting poo poo, but Trevor's interviews pack a punch. He's only starting to catch his comedic stride, but I think the interview segment is drastically improved over Jon's already, and very much worth watching.

Treyvon Martin's parents? Yeah. Watching that.

People certainly get more stubborn and set in their ways as they age, but who knows. Donald Trump has my entire family in political agreement for the first (and probably only) time in my life.

At least I buy Noah's sense of righteousness and generally agree. Bee used hers in the same ways that all of cable news media did for their shills of choice, and it was obnoxious at best.

Not problems, but points of view that you have to consider in context.

I haven't watched this week but I'm trying to figure out why everybody has their panties in a twist. That antifa segment was boilerplate Daily Show and I can't see anybody complaining (out loud) about the Confederate statue piece with Roy (which I thought was pretty drat good). Am I missing anything? Because if people are getting mad or spooked at him for anything I've been able to find I'm baffled. It's not like he went off the deep end.

I can't wait to see how the democrats find a way to gently caress up in 2018.

Every piece of news regarding the DNC post-election confirms that they have changed nothing. If they need to find a way, they're not needing to look very far at least.

But seriously, making fun of antifa people hating on Nazis for appropriating video games is funny. Noah's not "punching down at the left's best counter measure." He's mocking individual idiots being dumb.

That was really good. It's a shame so much of what he's done and said lately has been so lovely. I really didn't like his "Bernie Bros cost Clinton the election" joke tonight. That poo poo gets really old.

I think that's probably more Comedy Central, less Trevor. Gotta be a shill for those paychecks (sometimes, anyway).

Comedy Central seems to have some very incorrect opinions regarding comedy. Or maybe they just don't care since people eat up whatever they dish out. Still, network execs do have opinions that they like trying to shove down our throats.

Sorry I didn't read your link, but that kinda jives with what I did read. It was something along the lines of, he's grown up since then and would never make that joke today. What you posted does essentially say "deal with it," and is certainly not an apology, but I also think it's not exactly a defense of the joke.

I don't think it needs much arguing that younger Trevor was a jackass, but jackasses belong in comedy and his personal history makes me curious about what he has to say at least. Then again, I am indeed thick skinned with this stuff.

It just kind of upsets me that this honestly non issue would be conflated with alt-right propaganda. By American standards I'm dangerously socialist, and in my mind that sentiment tells me that they have won.

It was a bad joke. Sorry?

I like Trevor and I won't push it too hard, but I do think his interviews are much more relevant and interesting than Jon's, by and large. Fewer celebrities promoting movies, more authors and professors. I like it, it fills a gap that existed in late night.
