I'm excited for the New Japan Cup this year - there are a lot of directions they could go in and most of them would be interesting. I'd kind of like to see a heel vs. heel faction war between LIJ and Bullet Club when the latter returns, since CHAOS still seems occupied with Suzukigun and LIJ have a bunch of belts. Maybe hold off on the obligatory Omega vs. Okada rematch for a big show in a few months and have a less obvious NJC winner in the meantime.

Nice double shot this weekend. NJPW tends to be a lot of fun when they do foreigner-focused tours and I loved what they did with Dalton and the Boys. It looks like War Machine might have a future in Japan, and even Silas Young seemed pretty over with the live crowd.

Bring on Tiger Mask W vs. Okada!

Really fun B-tier show last night - Okada/TMW, Shibata/Sabre, and Hiromu/Taguchi were all pretty great. I still wish they'd treat the jr. tag belts less like a hot potato, but I pretty much accept it at this point.

Makabe is rocking a pretty sweet beard these days, too.

Oh jeez, way to give yourself a traumatic brain injury Shibata. It sounds like they caught it early which is good, but this kind of thing isn't a trivial matter. Hopefully he recovers okay.

Glad to see War Machine take the belts - that was the most I've enjoyed a HW tag title match in awhile. It would be nice if they got a decent run but that's not really how the tag divisions work.

Hiromu has been such a great addition to the junior division. Looking forward to him and Ricochet and hopefully they get Ospreay back for a title shot as well.

It's not uncommon to temporarily remove a chunk of skull to relieve brain swelling. In some people they actually implant it elsewhere in the body to make sure it stays fresh until they put it back in.

Best Friends vs. UnbreaCobble from the most recent show was a lot of fun (Chucky got a chant!), the GOD vs. Young Boys match had some good comedy, and the main event that's just starting should be a fine hoss off. Definitely worth tuning in for the top of the card.

I also enjoyed Juice screaming "gently caress off Nakanishi" in the previous show. I guess Sami's rubbing off on him.

I know there has to be the impression of parity with some of the faction teams but if I'm in charge of Chaos I'm definitely putting Goto and Ishii together to kill someone dudes.

Okay, I want to watch New Japan because the streaming pile of constant poo poo that is WWE is making me sad.

What do I do and where do I start?

Also because I adore Jericho.

Basically all of their big events for the past 5 or so years are worth watching, but if you're getting hyped for this year's Wrestle Kingdom maybe start with last year's (11) and hit all the big ones since then. Often the undercard isn't too exciting so you can skip to the title matches in the second half.

Specifically I'd recommend:

WK11
New Beginning In Sapporo (last three matches)
New Beginning in Osaka (last four matches)
Sakura Genesis (last three matches)
Wrestling Dontaku (Omega/Ishii)
Best of Super Junior Finals (Kushida/Ospreay)
Dominion (last four matches)
G1 Special in USA Night 1 (top three matches)
G1 Special in USA Night 2 (Omega/Ishii, Bucks/RPG Vice)
G1 Climax Tournament (too many to list, but Okada/Omega was great again)
G1 Climax Final (Omega/Naito, Bucks/Taguchi Japan)
Destruction in Hiroshima (Tanahashi/ZSJ)
Destruction in Kobe (Omega/Juice)
King of Pro Wrestling (Roppongi 3K/Taguchi Japan, last three matches)
Power Struggle (last three matches)

Once you get a feel for who you like, you'll have a better idea of what to skip and what to watch. Okada, Omega, Naito, Tanahashi, Ishii, Kushida, and Hiromu are some of my faves.

Kinda unfair judging him too harshly based on one post match challenge segment tho.
