I bought Steep a couple of days ago and that game is awesome. I don't get why it was received so badly. Blasting down a mountain with some relaxing music while the sun is going down is amazing.

PT is actually pretty amazing when you consider the fact of how long it took to be "solved", how few people still have achieved seeing even that ending, and the AMAZING job at executing for such a simple game teaser.
It rightfully earned an earmark in the tome of gaming history. It still sells the idea of a game 1000 x better than the trailer for Kojima's new title in development. Maybe you don't like horror, or maybe it just fits your whole deal as acting like a plain Lay's potato chip sort of human being.

You could plop any Horror film fan down with a copy of the PT demo, and they would get more satisfaction and time out of it than ANY horror movie made in the last decade.

Continue looking for couch co-op games to play with your 4 year old while being a taste maker and trend setter though.

Yeah, I accidentally stumbled across it too. It's weird, there aren't that much snowboard games out there so you'd guess they'd make much publicity for it and sell a ton, but they didn't somehow?

I like it, but it's kind of on my "games to chill out with" pile instead of my "gotta play".
Yeah I know, that's what I actually like about it. Just fire it up after work and ride down a mountain and chill out.

Re the Steep discussion from the previous page - my experience with all the alpha and beta trials was that while it's a fun game that is polished and well executed, it's easy to run out of things to do. After a couple of weekends I found myself unable to muster up the motivation to keep exploring and doing time trials/other events. Perhaps the full game has added more to do?

Well, there are daily challenges and dev challenges. Those weren't available in the beta afaik. I guess those could keep you entertained for a while. But yeah, I can totally see yourself getting burned out once you've found every drop zone. But until then, I'm having tons of fun throwing myself of mountains!

This was posted elsewhere too. Look pretty alright! If they dropped the Metal Gear name I don't think it'd be as reviled.

Looks like it's taking the best part of MGSV and doing other things with it. Kind of digging how you can just build things quickly in the field and use them to your advantage in situations. Looks like they're having fun with all that portal poo poo.

It looks like a really well done mod for MGSV. Same map, other enemies and instead of building your base out in the ocean, you build it right there.
Does look like fun though, MGSV was great and more of the same thing is good. They should add a dog to the game though :colbert:

You can stash your gun in a trash can, but why would you ever do that when you can just put it away and no one will know you have it? That's in a nutshell how I felt about the whole game. It surrounds you with options, but none of them really seem to escalate into anything interesting. It felt like it was lacking the domino effect that would have made the sandboxy levels compelling.

There are a ton of options and most of them escalate into something interesting. It just isn't always obvious, but after replaying every level a couple of times, you get those 'eureka' moments and then the game really shines.
But you have to spend some time getting to know the levels, if you don't do that, it'll be a disappointing game for sure.
