Do you guys like offal? Traditional Greek easter dish, made out of lamb liver, lungs, heart etc with rice, parsley, dill and other herbs, wrapped in... is it called suet? The membrane inside the lamb holding everything together.

Sorry for bad photo, turns out it's pretty hard to make a deep brown non-textured food look good.

That sounds delicious and I am sad I'm not eating it.

It's fine if I catch some poo poo for this, but I have to say, because I see it so often and I guess I'm just this guy: your food probably didn't come out particularly well, it came out particularly good.

An analog: to taste well is to be able to taste things. To taste good is to have a good flavor.

To come out good is to come out and have some attribute of good quality. To come out well is to... have been easily removed from a container, I guess.

Constantly substituting the word "well" for "good" is kind of like substituting "whom" for "who." It's often wrong, despite sounding fancier.

I'm an rear end in a top hat.

This is not a well post.

We did a non-turkey thanksgiving because nobody wanted it...so Beef Wellington was the centerpiece instead.

Went the sous vide route for the meat and it turned out better than I had expected.

Mother of god.

Here's a trifle I made awhile back, custard, vanilla whipped cream, victoria sponge, mascerated strawberries, and cream sherry.

And some simple shakshuka and flatbread which has become one of my fav dishes:

Trifle is so good. I feel like it's a vastly underrated dessert.

Agreed, and it's definitely one of those desserts that benefit so much from using quality, homemade ingredients. Making one with cool whip, custard powder and store-bought yellow cake will still be good but not in the same ballpark as one made with better stuff.
