I went looking for a particular carving bit for my rotary tool but instead I found the deadliest angle grinder attachment https://www.aliexpress.com/item/80-...sAbTest=ae803_4 I have not done the math But I am pretty sure that if one of those blades came off at full speed it would go clean through you.

I picked an AGM m1 "rugged phone" last year and I have not had any issues with it however it is pretty much just a dumbphone. I recently bought one of these https://www.aliexpress.com/item/327...rchweb201603_55, it's actually pretty nice probably because it's a clone of a fancy razor that had the patent expire,

One method is to get some cheap mountain bike tires, cut the sidewalls off then take the tread section and wrap it around the outside of the old wheel, cut it to length then attach the tread section onto the outside of the wheel with wood screws, If that does not work out it looks like you can get adapters to fit new wheels on Ali https://www.aliexpress.com/item/329...847433465%22%7D

I had a look and the single most expensive thing I have bought off ali was a good working lto-5 tape drive for $393 (AUD), I think I snagged a bargain with that one since the listed price jumped up by something like $100 after I got it, more recently I picked up one of those weird industrial pc boards to toy with for $287 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32783635667.html?spm=a2g0o.9042311.0.0.4a8e4c4darVRoK greedy thing stole all the serial ports.

Anyone know how this would compare to anything recommendable on AliExpress? Gas irons generally aren't great for anything beyond the odd field repair where the portability is useful. I got a 90 watt PX-988 from ali a while ago and it's been pretty solid little iron, it can take a large variety of tips the heating element is replaceable and it has reasonable temperature control https://www.aliexpress.com/item/100...380248791%21sea Keep in mind that if you are planning on using lead free solder you will want iron coated tips since plain copper ones will get eaten up by alloying with the solder.

If you want the budget option go for the px-988 I linked in my last post it's only like AU$40 including the shipping from what I can see. I found video showing it off https://youtu.be/QIdkzoa5IGs you can fit Hakko tips on it if you want to upgrade it somewhat.

My electric water bottles arrived, after filling one up and replacing the flex on the charging plug it came with it warmed up quite nicely. Even though you are not supposed to use it while plugged in I was curious about the potential for capacitive coupling so I placed it on a metal plate while it was heating and got about 50 volts on the meter between the plate and ground and no measurable amperage at least as far as my multimeter can detect, overall I am quite happy with it.
