Rewatching the original Psycho and two things stick out to me: Norman is always eating candy corn and Sam Loomis looks just like the Sam they cast on Bates Motel. Several people I reccomended the show to were turned off by the unnecessary, graphic rape scene in the first episode. The first season was also kind of weak.
