What is this even?
This is a Deathwatch RPG campaign, almost entirely conceived as an off-week game for the already existing In the Shadow of the Eye of Terror game.

Who's it for?
Well, people from the other game have first priority to get in, and enough have voiced interest that we have a full party, so... We're probably already full up? Maybe one or two additional, we'll see.
We could use a couple more dudes!

How we doing this?
Discord for audio, Roll20 for the table. The plan is every Sunday we don't have the other game, we'll have one of these. The time slot seems to work, so we'll start 9-10am PST GMT-8/5-6pm GMT+0 unless we want to alter that.

How do we character?
Standard character creation, with the point allocation option. Let me know if you want to be a custom chapter, we can work it out. Other than that, have at it, as far as background the only limit is you're new to the deathwatch (maybe a mission or two).

I can't understand these kinds of games, and not getting it bugs me almost as much as me being weird



"Bastion" (Sebastian Gustavus van Dorn)

You can see why he's called the "Bastion" - he's utterly massive, probably the largest Space Marine you've ever seen, wrapped in ancient, gore-stained armor that groans as it struggles to contain his bulk. He looks like he could breach a fortress with his head - with his helmet off, he looks like he has.

He's young by the standards of the Deathwatch. Driven. More than just a hunger for glory, he assaults every enemy like he's avenging a personal slight, grudgingly, like it's a sliver of some larger insult. He's only grown more intense since induction into the Deathwatch.

His craggy face relaxes from its perpetual scowl as he salutes you. It's a horrifying expression, but he does appear to be genuinely pleased to meet you.
"I am a master of the pain glove, but it's nothing compared to the training of the Deathwatch. I look forward to serving with you."

I don't know how to select Squad mode abilities... or the second solo ability. Jesus Christ, this is probably the FFG book with the worst formatting.

Anyone else using the FFG char sheet from their website? Even if does have several mistakes in it...

Which book has the armor marks? I want to run around in a MK III.

Also, I would appreciate it if we started an hour later than we start Dark Heresy, at least for this week. I have a FLGS management meeting and since I'm one of the people (probably the person) calling for the resuming of weekly FLGS meetings, it would be bad if I missed the first one.
Unfortunately, I don't have bluetooth, so I don't think that I could roleplay on my phone in public transport on my way back!

I can't understand these kinds of games, and not getting it bugs me almost as much as me being weird


Going to volunteer to be Leader next game, and since we know we'll be fighting Tau, we should go with the Oath of Knowledge and its sweet, sweet +10 BS&WS vs a Xeno species.

Also, in the core book, all the servitors require Distinguished Renown.

I noticed that you've got your bonus to Fel from your armour wrong. You get +15 from the Mark, and another +5 from one of the histories, rather than +15 total.

Hey, so to save a bit of time and make sure we accomplish as much as possible this Sunday, you guys are getting a basic mission briefing now so you can choose your Requisition in advance.

Members of Kill-Team Sigma,

Your presence is required on Serendipity 1723-21. Approach in stealth, and do not attempt to make contact with the local authorities or PDF. They are to be considered possibly hostile, and fully expendable. You will be given a sealed information canister to be opened upon planetfall, which contains the identity of a friendly asset in the planetary capital, and the method of contact. They will brief you on the full mission details.

For your preparations, in addition to said expendable local human forces, expect to come in conflict with Tau elements. Infantry, drones, and battlesuits, with light vehicle support are all possibilities. Entering an established base, by stealth or overt assault, is likely to be required. Under expected circumstances, extraction will not be long in coming.

Melta Bombs are 25 req each, how are you affording all that? Are we wanting to go loud, or subtle? I'll take a missile launcher if we're happy with running brawls, it'll help a lot on suits.

Also, why are you carrying, uh, a chainaxe and three chainswords? Are you going to juggle them?

Maybe take a bunch of grenades to go with the jump packs, so you can fly over Tau and poop grenades on their heads like giant pigeons?
