Hi. Your head's on fire.

WarioWare is a series of games based around playing goofy microgames: minigames so short you complete them in seconds, with a sense of humor so cracked and Japanese they make you question your sanity. Playing as either Wario or one of his colorful cohorts, you complete a slew of microgames to help them complete tasks. 2007's Smooth Moves brings the series to the Wii and takes as much advantage of the motion controls as possible.

JigglyJacob takes control for this quick, four-part LP. Mugiwara Yoshi, Highwang, and myself (ThornBrain) are along to enjoy the ride. This is not a 100% LP, so there will still be plenty of microgames for you to discover yourself, but Jacob will still go through all of the modes to show how much you can do.

Part 1 - Story Mode (1/2)
Part 2 - Story Mode (2/2)
Part 3 - Post-Story
Part 4 END - Multiplayer

So that bungee-jumping microgame where you drop the remote only pops up immediately after one that involves a lot of twisting the remote. The intent is to untwist the Wrist Strap in the most natural way possible: by gravity.

I'm a little disappointed that those wiimote worshiping things weren't bombermen. We could have had a call back to Wario Blast on the Game Boy!

I played Smooth Moves at a birthday party a couple of months ago, and my turn was on the Kat/Ana stage, and I definitely didn't have the wrist strap on when it came time to drop my remote. Fortunately nothing breakable was on the table underneath.

Edit: I was beaten by two posts about that wiimote dropping game thing. It's a clever trick.

Generally this warioware is one of my favorites. You do a lot of fun unique stuff with the wiimote. Touched on the other hand didn't utilize the touch controls in a very interesting manner. Although probably the best one is WarioWare Twisted which used a unique gba cart with a gyro sensor installed in it. The original is also quite good as well, just doesn't have a lot of side content. Overall, Touched isn't bad, just not as creative.

As always, love the strawhatno videos. Keep up the great work.

The little blocky square thing behind the cash register in the Volts' level is Disk-Kun, the mascot of the Famicom Disk System!

Also, I've only played a few of the Warioware games, but they usually follow this pattern, with the Jimmies being "test" levels, and the final set being wario-ized harder versions of games from throughout the rest of the levels (note the wario nose and stache on all the games) (also, 9-volt's levels are all always nintendo history themed...sometimes going back to before the video game era, such as the baseball chucker from the 60s)

Man, Nintendo SPD1 were the greatest. I'm a bit sad that they (apparently) don't exist as a self-contained dev team anymore and feel like the Switch will be rather lacklustre if it doesn't get a WarioWare or Rhythm Heaven title.

The pig elevator was in the first WW game.

Also despite Thorn's lack of enthusiasm, the 3D balloon fight looks pretty cool.

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

The endless levels are amazing and I think I managed to get up to over 200 on the first game (as a kid with much better reactions and lots of time playing the game).

I goddamn love that game and still fire up a new save ritually each year.

Oh and I think 'pick the nose' has been in every WW.

Yeah, each game has a different animal. In the first game it was pigs, in Touched, it was teddy bears, and Smooth Moves has elephants. I forget what they used for Twisted and never played DIY.

Pyoro is also something in every WW game in some form or another as a 100% completion prize, Pyoro S is notable mostly because it's the only one that isn't garbage.

Is the "Drop the Wiimote" game in multiplayer? Because with a "hotseat" setup like that there's no way anyone could wear the wrist wrap.
