Good point. Maybe I'll just get more into the multiplayer.

Can you do Tier One while playing Ghost mode? Might be a good way for me to kill two birds with one stone.

If "birds" is some code for "my will to play this game" and "my will to live" then sure, two birds will go down with one stone the moment you get to the Tier level that turns everyone into wallhacking aimbots whose fire rate is about 100x times yours (I think that's like 20 or something?). I'm half way through tier 5 and I'm really unlikely to go back. The game is great fun and I play it super stealthily but I prefer it when if things go pear shaped I can fight my way out, not if things go pear shaped then a single enemy toting twin uzis will drop me quicker than it takes to go from crouching behind cover to simply standing up. I find it pretty amazing that it gets as utterly ridiculous as is does; it was actually kind of funny the first few times.

Oh wow. I didn't know that it got more difficult as you progress through the Tier system. I should read the manual next time.

It forces you to up the game difficulty (I think it's about level 20 at which you're forced into Extreme) and then it just keeps getting more insane on top of that, often defying all expectations that it possibly can't get any more bullshit. Honestly, it's really not worth it, although they've probably now tied in those crate-buying points into Tier mode (which is why I got 8k+ dumped on me when I reinstalled it recently) so that might make it worth playing it for a while until you find it too tiresome.

I knocked out the new weekly challenge for the PS4 task force. I'm going to cull that group. If anyone wants in, https://ghostreconnetwork.ubi.com/en-US/task-force/profile/ps4/11132/Task-Force-Mangosteen

I won't! I need to poke around the settings and see if there's a way to show activity and just remove people who haven't played in a long time.

To be clear, you can. The gold paint scheme for the exoskeleton outfit parts is gained by getting to Tier 1 in Ghost Mode.

I hadn't played basically since the Predator mission dropped and had no issues with vanishing gear.

I got the SR-1 chameleon out of a prestige crate, which looks really dope. I mess around with it for a bit, take the suppressor off to see what it sounds like... can’t put the suppressor back on. Can’t edit it in the gunsmith menu since it’s dlc. Now I have a cool looking gun that is useless to my preferred play style.

So for whatever reason I still have to redo all my key binds and settings, controller settings, HUD settings and audio, every loving time I play, but I was persisting because I really do find this game enjoyable but seriously that's getting loving old.

Anyway, I just died in Ghost Mode at level 11 with one boss killed while chasing down a medical supply truck because I rammed an escort vehicle off the side of the road and it blew up at the same time which killed me and blew my car up so of course the rest of my team is fine but the two cars were stuck together so when I get ressed I instantly die for real because my body has nowhere to go so I've uninstalled have a great time everyone.

I've been using the R4 forever but it's been getting less effective as I advance through the tiers.

Also, is there a still a pc squad?

Honestly I think I only did something as crazy as chase down an escort vehicle because I was getting so peeved at constantly having to reset my controls each time. I basically fired up the game, reset all the controls and settings AGAIN, walked down a road to clear a tiny base, and then saw the medical truck so I stole a helicopter, realised I'd forgotten to change the controller settings with everything else (I use a controller for air travel), so basically was just pissed, and when they shot through my roadblock instead of leaving them be as I do every other time because a chase can be dangerous when your guys can't hit poo poo and you'll just get shot in the driver's seat, I just chased them down.

I might give it one more try from a full reinstall (because I seriously did just uninstall it) and see if that fixes whatever dumb issue is resetting my settings each time, because I just love this stupid loving game so much that I'm prepared to give it another shot despite already finishing it and getting to Tier 5 because unlocking random cosmetic poo poo is fun because you can dress up your whole squad and the challenges are kind of cool actually given I love the gameplay.

I almost wish this game had an MMO style random challenge generator that created new ones every X days or whatever and that they overlapped so people didn't have to fire it up each day to really progress but could log in every so often and have a bunch of things available to do, but oh my god could they at least just fix the bullshit psychic enemy AI. I'm sick of knowing that I can't play a proper distraction game, especially given that noisemaker grenades actually work so you know the code is there to distract them to a noise and not "Oh a gas cylinder blew up on the northern edge of the compound it's got to be that ghost recon team I can't see and didn't know about over on the south side".

This game legit needs its own version of :xcom:

The M4 is probably still my most used weapon but since the Year 2 stuff came out I've been playing with whatever that Splinter Cell rifle is and it's very, very good. Kinda huge and block, but I'm into that.

M4A1 on main. It’s such a great gun.

PSG-1 for sniping dudes.

TAC50 for blowing up vehicles.

I’ve heard the G2 is an amazing assault rifle as well. Almost the same specs as the M4A1 but with a faster fire rate. Not nearly as pretty though.

416 is baller but it is not worth the $10 or whatever the pack is.

It's basically a R5 in terms of easy to control recoil and stopping power of the R5. However it has the single-shot and ROF full auto of the M4A1.

It's a really good gun.
