Also clicked through one of the reviews and... really cool seeing fans of adult games on Steam posting some seriously borderline artwork that I'm not sure any Valve employees would actually want to be hosting on their platform.

The universe they've created for this and Lust for Darkness is actually one of the more interesting takes on Lovecraft I've seen. At first glance you'd think the games are just trying to be explicit for the shock value but the creators really wanted to create their own cohesive universe. Obviously it's all quite silly and I giggle any time I find som bizarre sex toy stuffed in a drawer but beyond that they're actually trying to tell some interesting stories. I think the point is that if they did they'd be liable to Valve's content policies, thin as they are, which is why they're being coy with "It's available on a certain Discord if you wanna go looking for it  ". Similar to why nude patches can't simply be linked in a stickied discussions thread anymore.Whatever, in the end it's marketing. If you're already successfully making people go out of their way to seek out your marketing material, you're doing something right.
