Alternately it could be someone trying to prove a point. Come up with the most horrendous game imaginable, slap together some Poser-images and dump it on Steam. Valve just leaning back and letting out a wet fart kinda proves how useless their new system is.

Anyone remember the Land of the Dead game? I was mucking about in some boxes the other day and found my PC copy. It was utterly poo poo and clearly made by amateurs with zero budget but I still liked it. There's something about the incredibly slow pace that makes it seem realistic. I installed it and actually ended up playing through the whole thing in one sitting (only takes three hours). It's now not just poo poo but incredibly dated yet I had a good time. Earlier in the thread someone mentioned Lust for Darkness and since gory poo poo is my jam I decided to look into it. After reading a couple of threads on the Steam forum I snapped it up and God drat does it deliver. I've never seen so much horrible poo poo in a game ever. These devs don't shy away from showing you various genitals and utterly gruesome mutilation. I never played more of Agony than the alpha, but I refuse to believe it throws half as much gore and debauchery at you as this thing. It also does a good job of portraying the other dimension as a mix of Lovecraft, Clive Barker and Giger. Also maybe worth mentioning that it mostly is a walking sim but it does have some sneaking and running sections. These are a piece of piss tho. SOMA and A Machine for Pigs are more difficult. So yeah, if you're the type of person who wants to stumble across a demon using a torso as a fleshlight (I'm not joking) then this is the game for you. Praise be to Gabe and Valve for not giving a single gently caress what people toss up on the store anymore.

If someone did it well and wasn't a Nazi they could probably do a walking simulator as Hitler or Stalin well. It has chapters through their life and choices might change history. What if as Adolf you don't give up on art just because everyone tells you you're mediocre? You go on to be one of the classics and are lauded in history ever after.

Those sites were always fun because there would be a forum that people who bought the game at EGS would go to for support and discussion and instead it was always just people screaming about how the devs had betrayed them. Lust from Beyond is releasing on the 25th and so yesterday since it was Valentines the devs released their "erotic" trailer. Thing is, it's too "erotic" to release on youtube so instead you have to go on their discord to find a link to it on a dropbox. Hint: the trailer is not erotic at all. It's the usual disgusting filth I've come to expect from the devs. The highlight is probably the cut where the protagonist sticks his dick into something that could have been designed by Giger. The universe they've created for this and Lust for Darkness is actually one of the more interesting takes on Lovecraft I've seen. At first glance you'd think the games are just trying to be explicit for the shock value but the creators really wanted to create their own cohesive universe. Obviously it's all quite silly and I giggle any time I find som bizarre sex toy stuffed in a drawer but beyond that they're actually trying to tell some interesting stories.
