Hey that's not fair.

The only minor character Gensai fought was Rihito, everyone else was a heavy hitter. Heck, Setsuna and Agito were positioned to be the main antagonists of the whole manga, but he's the one who actually beat them in the tournament. His whole gimmick was looking like he was obviously going to lose, but winning anyway, all the way to the end.

We can only hope that Rihito has learned this mysterious power to reverse narrative momentum.

Yep, this manga is aware of the tropes of the genre and does it's best to subvert them in a fun way,

Kengan Ashura is so good.

The Kengan fighter association is filled with hardcore martial arts nutjobs and old-school deathmatch lovers. It kinda makes sense that the guys in Purgatory are either the flashy types or pragmatic dudes who wants to make a living fighting without getting horribly killed in the process.

Soooo even Purgatory hypes up Kazzy and he didn't really chose any fighter yet. He kinda picked Misasa but only after he already strongly went forward. Am i the only one annoyed by that? Like Kazzy being the captain was the basis for really interesting fights and everyone just going past him feels a bit sad.

Kazzy has some actual skills it's just that he lacks a strong personality and he gets overwhelmed quickly by the situation however he has top-tier luck, so he keeps failing upwards.

So basically Jurata is already going for the motion of the throw and he just hooks the opponent with the most slight contact. Thus nobody can react to them like a normal throw? So far this is still a good fight, a little wary that he's getting compared to gensai because I remember the last time someone got that.

If these don't shake your suspension of disbelief, then the sky should be the limit as far as "acceptable levels of BS" goes.

Sure, Ashura had a healthy dose of ridiculous poo poo, Omega has been tamer (my boy Raian aside) so far on that regard, although I'm fairly sure that's because the most colorfoul character have not appeared until now.

Not complaining by the way, I like Baki stuff, it's just that the Koga arc has been pretty low powered compared to previous stuff.

Edit: Oh yeah, I just had a flashback and Jurata's throwing technique kinda reminds me about a ridiculous throwing technique of one of the masters in History's Mightiest Discipline Kenichi.
