Why do helicopters nowadys have miniguns as door guns rather than the machineguns they had back in the vietnam era? I'm talking the difference between today:  and back in the vietnam era:  I would have thought that a machine gun has less moving parts (and more reliable) and that the rate of fire wouldn't matter as much (or be good enough).
