I particularly love the Raven's Cry LP, because that version of the game doesn't exist any more. Also that cutscene near the end where the QA team hosed up and there's a pretty long expository conversation entirely in German.

Popped into this thread and saw that the Freelance Astronauts have been recommended a few times already.

Their rapport, as others have mentioned, is really, really great. For me, their only contender was Giant Bomb back when Ryan Davis was still kicking around. Of the Astronauts, I love/hate pipes! the most. His antics get the biggest laughs out of me but his tendency to shout can get grating at times.

The group covers a really wide variety of games. All their videos are great, but here's a selection of my favorites:

At this point I realize that I'm going to end up listing every video they have that are still up so really you should just go and watch all their videos, especially the older ones where only the core 4-member crew are present. Their whole run as Lunk/Lonk through the Zelda series is awesome.

Blind LPs are usually bad, but Voidburgers LP of Undertake was pretty great.

Helloitsdan did one as well, but it wasn't as good. His LP of Mercenaries 2 + Lost Planet with Lithuanian Dad were great. Shame that Lost Planet 1 LP was lost to the aether. I'll never be able to listen to the 'Floral Dance' without thinking of minigunning aliens to shreds with Terry Wogan's dulcet tones.

On a non-S.A. front, Laurentheflute does some... endearing LPs. She's not a good player by any means, but her earnestness carries her through.

Got my favorite one right off the bat. It didn't help that Vicas and Brother Entropy kept egging on Addar about how much the game sucks and is poorly designed.

Speaking of Vicas, his Super Mario 64 LP with his feet was an amazing work of gameplay. That Koopa the Quick star in Tiny/Huge Island was filled with deaths.

TieTuesday's Sonic Boom LP is listed as "abandoned" in the LP Archive master list, but it was finished. It's similar to the pokecapn crew's playthrough of Sonic 2006, in that he played it the whole way through- unpatched, no less- in one sitting while other commenters chimed in on how much it sucked. By the end of it all, Vicas was incredibly drunk.

Psychedelic Eyeball's Prince of Persia 3D LP was one of my first favorite LPs. He can now pronounce words like "sword" and "lower" correctly.

Maple Leaf did a valuable service by suffering through Metroid: Other M. Watch this so you don't have to play through. Yes, it is that bad. Bonus: he's currently going through the similarly panned Metroid Prime Federation Force.

I like everything FutureFriend does, he and his crew are always funny. Here's his Kingdom Hearts LP.

Diabeetus did a good, face pun-filled LP of Super Mario Galaxy 2. Slowbeef was the most frequent guest but he had others join in.

Pretty much, sadly. The amount of effort it takes to put up a Screenshot LP should not be understated. And there's no good platform for it (you're essentially limited to the LP forum in terms of readers with a few outliers), no real possibility of monetization over what amounts to be an enormous effort. The end result to a reader looks like it took a lot less effort than it actually did.

At the same time, people are probably less interested in a screenshot LP, because it's something you have to actively pay attention to, while you can put on a video LP in the background and do something else or just zone out.

Happily, with the ongoing "Let's Play all of Final Fantasy" megathread, one of the commentators, Claire is a transwoman who transitioned during the LP (When it first started in FF1 she was still going by her deadname Cody, came out I believe towards the end/middle of the first game) and noone gave her poo poo about it. She actually had a lot of interesting things to say about the process too, like how the voice wouldn't be changing because when puberty hits the larynx it's irreversible, and she'd need a bunch of speech therapy to do anything about it. People have generally been nothing but supportive, so it's good we've come that far since the DazzlingAddar debacle..
