My guess? Lenny is actually The Demon With the Yellow Eyes (I'm not calling him/her Shadow King until the show does), or at least how David projects the rational version of it on top of Benny, who appeared to Syd as Lenny because Syd inherited David's mental dysfunction along with his powers when they swapped bodies JESUS loving CHRIST I LOVE THIS SHOW

As a kid, he talks to an invisible dog named King. Pretty clever.

Is tree man that thing Shadow King got so pissed he couldn't find? Just noticed he's in the first episode in the first like 6 minutes, he shows up during a bunch of flashes to the king personas.

Pretty sure I saw a Legion promo with "FX Now" or whatever it was called being advertised. I don't know anything about it or if it's available same day though, sorry. I watch it on Xfinity on demand.

The show's pretty straightforward after a while. I imagine that really is Syd from the future, and everything from the trailers and next episode preview seems to indicate that.

Last season pulled everything together pretty nicely, this one I'm hoping will again.

I like how everyone in this thread has bailed on the super mind world ..... it all can't be in his mind possibly, a show written almost entirely by a single person.

Yeah if you remember, Shadow King tried to put together a whole mind thing with the hospital and got pissed and tired of it after like 20 minutes or 2 days or something.

Pretty funny to hear Syd say David ends up beating Farouk's head in at the desert and the next scene is Farouk demanding David respect him a week before that theoretical beatdown happens.

I like that the moustache bots and the heavily armed children casually walk around outside where everyone can see them.

I'm kind of grateful this show doesn't concern itself with the outside world. In the last 50 dumb supehero movies they're always cutting to some extra pretending to be amazed at wire work, or they're offhandedly talking about some dumb historical event that happened in the previous Avengers movie to make sure you know it was a big deal.

What was with the cutaway to the moon during one of the monk scenes? I kept wondering if they were going to address the "what did the stars say" thing where he ate the tape recording and David's dad's face from last season, since he taught him about the stars.

There's a person swirling around the helicopter. It's pretty subtle. I also liked the scene of David killing that guy when he gets picked up off the ground.

I read the pilot episode since someone posted about it and there was nothing really interesting beside Cain Marko (!) being the guy who escorts David out of the pool and David giving his sister nosebleeds growing up. Here it is if anyone cares: http://scripts.tv-calling.com/script/fx-legion-1x01-pilot/

Rewatched episode 3 and I wonder if Fukyama isn't Professor X. He kind of offers a flimsy dodge when he says "another crisis then another" like the Shadow King just happens every day and the Monk calls him on it.

The video is just some behind-the-scenes stuff about the the light wand Syd was drawing with. They used a slo-mo camera to actually film the light or something.

David's sister said the vermillion thing was a dream but it seemed like she was confusedly responding when he said she took a nap. Maybe she gets flashes like David does of the future.

I got distracted by him talking about the branches because in the first episode I remembered him waking up and talking about trees being his only memory. I wonder if it's still not relevant.

Pointless speculation stuff I noticed in the board room scene: the place was named the "Davidoff Capital" and there was a subtle D3 sign on the door. https://imgur.com/a/2VCILfT Also somewhere the camera lingers on a bank sign that says "tonal ban" across from the building.

People in the thread keep saying the show is getting cancelled but I don't see it. Low ratings or not the guy who makes it is making 3 things for the company. If worse comes to worse they could add Patrick Stewart for a 30 second cameo and plug the hell out of it so people know it's an X-Men thing.

Why does Syd look like this from the footage of the pool episode in the last episode? It's the same look from season 1 so they didn't change anything.

This season of Legion has been increased to 11 episodes, giving the show the opportunity to include some scenes that previously ended up on the cutting room floor.

"Now they've added the extra episode, so you will also get to see some of the things that were cut out, maybe some things were cut out because episodes were too long, not everything was together, and now it reveals more," Negahba said.

"It tells you a little more about the character."

So I guess it isn't getting canceled. Hooray

I think this is pretty crucial thing. I mean not only where is Xavier. Where is everyone. There's almost no other X-Men characters. It's always played with the idea that this is all in David's head. With straight up inconsistencies in the reality portrayed, and the fact almost every single character is a reflection of David in some way. I do feel like the show is ultimately heading toward a "it was all a dream" but that won't be the point. The point will be "it's all in David's head but despite that these people matter" That will be the attempted twist, not the level to which it is false, but the level to which we accept the dream to be real.

Super embarrassing story time. I once had a dream where I was some space trader, I'd visit planets as I stopped over to offload goods. One time I met an old lady carrying groceries, we exchanged hellos and went on our way. Decades later, in a city now grown and changed, virtually indistinguishable, I see her again. Even older, and I say hello. She remembered who I was, and I woke up tears streaming down my face that she remembered me, that I made a passing impact on a stranger.

The emotion there was real, I felt it then and still kind of do. Even though it was all as false as could be, it barely makes any sense at all, and is just strange and bizarre but there is still some small piece of it that survived the illusion.

I think (maybe its someone else) the philosopher David Chalmers says that even if we "live" in a simulation that our feelings and attachments are all still legitimate. They wouldn't suddenly become fake with the introduction of new information.

There is a maze in the desert carved from sand and rock. A vast labyrinth of pathways and corridors a hundred miles long, a thousand miles wide, full of twists and dead ends. Picture it... a puzzle. You walk, and at the end of this maze is a prize just waiting to be discovered. All you have to do is find your way through. Can you see the maze? Its walls and floors, its twists and turns? Good, because the maze you've created in your mind is itself the maze. There is no desert, no rock or sand. There is only the idea of it. But it's an idea that will come to dominate your every waking and sleeping moment. You're inside the maze now. You cannot escape. Welcome to madness.
