The Prodigy was extremely my poo poo during my teenage years... and well, it still is. Back in the day I loved seeing the songs that were sampled being mentioned in the liner notes, even though there was no easy way to hear the originals at the time. So I was pretty ecstatic when I found about Dirtchamber Sessions Vol 1. It's a shame there never was more of that but I imagine mix tapes like will always be music licensing nightmare (I remember 2 Many DJs making a comment along those lines once). Here's another version of Firestarter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPI3b9iPSN0 Some people might recognize it because it was used in a trailer for the video game Just Cause 3. I like it although on an album with such contenders it becomes a bit of a lightweight. Here's the source of the vocal sample, which are obviously the Beastie Boys (it's at 2:10). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--9ucYqPvks ...and if you down the rabbit hole you'll get to the song that the Beasties were sampling (which I imagine was something that Liam also digged). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DP4LGEAfUEY

Definitely one more little reason why The Matrix was fantastic. That transition from the Dragula remix to Mindfields is amazing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGKcWsYahAg&t=20s Mierenneuker fucked around with this message at 14:54 on May 20, 2017 |

Quoting myself from earlier in the thread. I'm not a fan of the slow, brooding cover trend (see: movie trailers from the past 5 years) but I dig this one.Mierenneuker posted:Here's another version of Firestarter: Edit: Also here is a Team Fortress 2 themed tribute (made by goons if I'm not mistaken).
