I just took my kid to this Chinese chuck-e-cheese type spot for a couple hours at a busted up shopping mall so my wife could relax for a while and they had one of those Pandora's Box cabs that was set up SNK style. Tried playing SFZero 3 with no medium or heavy kicks and didn't get very far but I was able to 1cc Garou and Last Blade 2. :cool:

Even if you don't form those habits and fall prey to predatory poo poo like dailies, paid currencies and limited time events yourself it's really depressing to witness if someone close to you does. I recommended the sequel to the game Journey to my wife who is a fairly casual gamer when it came up in the Switch news feed without doing my homework and thinking it would be just a quick one-and-done 4 hour artsy indie game with pretty graphics and such that she would enjoy for an evening or two. I guess the alarm bells should have really rung hard when it said you could download the game for free, guess what turns out the developers followed up Journey with another little 4-hour artsy indie game except this one is padded out to infinity with dailies, a cash shop, limited-time FOMO event poo poo, etc. So instead of a couple hours long game it became an obsession for her over more than a year, she had 3 alt accounts on the thing and every day would stress out about having to do the dailies on all 3 of her 3 characters using the Switch and 2 phones at the same time like a Chinese WoW gold farmer every day repeating the exciting gameplay loop of just flying through the same 4 areas picking up collectibles that are always in the same places on the map, every week grinding the story's ~emotional climax~ where your character sacrifices themselves to help others or whatever so she can get some kind of special currency to buy cosmetic items and emotes. Literally 1000s of hours logged in this paper thin game with like 4 hours of content. It was so depressing to watch every day. You could be doing literally anything else or even I don't know play actual good games that aren't utter mind numbing predatory shite at least. I think she finally did go cold turkey on it though and uninstalled it from everywhere.

drat. You must feel pretty guilty about that.
