It barely hits that nostalgia note tho. It doesn't feel like FF7. The setting is spot on but the characters, NPCs in particular take me out of it. Run around this beautiful dead empty world with invisible walls. The little animedrogynous boy who gives you VR missions? What the gently caress is that? But wait, there's a new important guy with cool hair that we're introducing. No one wants that. Exact opposite of what they should've gone for. The battle system is serviceable but it feels like a hundred other games that do the same thing. It's an incomplete game and I couldn't finish it, it was depressing. Like most things I get excited for. Square post merger has such a dull style and no balls. They used to make such cool poo poo. I'm enjoying Grandia on the Nintendo Switch.

I was too lazy to find a power strip so I unplugged my PS4 to plug in my PS2 so I could play and finish Suikoden 2 and I think I'm gonna keep it like that for a while.

ff13 was the first rpg I played after living in Japan for a couple years and transitioning back to playing video games, applying to jobs in the US suburbs, versus having a social life in a fun city and playing it straight up put me in a black depression, thinking things like nothing good will ever be made again

I couldn't understand the point of Ghost of Tsushima with it's middling sword play. No decapitations, no amputations, I played it for maybe 6 hours and didn't see any one hit kills. Why does everyone gently caress up swords? Swords don't drain your health, they kill or maim you. Just copy bushido blade. The mechanics were perfect.

the controls for bushido blade 1 were so much better than 2, I liked the big roster of 2, it was neat, but why change the controls and get rid of leg damage? couldn't understand that
