I don't care who wins but I feel bad for DR in this case. I'm half expecting most calls to be called a strike at this point even when they're way off.

The second baseman wasn't even looking when he tagged, just pointing to Molina.

Throw owned. Baez's casual behind the back tag as he was pointing at Molina to get the out also owned.

That final strike was high as hell but framed well. I think Segura was right to be upset there.

I feel like the upset is a bit tainted by that strike zone but oh well.

Working out possibilities for Pool E (Tokyo). Where things stand: - Cuba is out (duh) - Netherlands is 2-1, and has given up 11 runs over 24 innings - Japan is 2-0 and has given up 11 runs over 18 innings - Israel is 1-1 and has given up 13 runs over 17 innings The possibilities: - Japan wins by any score Japan is through as winner of Pool E with 3 wins and Netherlands is runner up with 2 - Israel wins 1-0 Three way tie at 2-1. Japan is through to the semis with 12 runs over 27-innings (no shortening possible) for a RIP of 0.444, with Netherlands at 0.458 and Israel at 0.5 going to the tie-breaker game. - Israel wins by any other score Three way tie at 2-1. Netherlands is through to the semis with an RIP of 0.458 which would be better than Japan's best possible RIP of 0.481. Israel and Japan would rematch in the tie-breaker. The Dutch are in pretty good shape avoiding the tiebreaker in most cases in which Japan loses. I did compile and compute these numbers on my own, so apologies if I messed something up.
