I definitely needed to watch a show that is this positive about our human traits, it's so heartwarming. That shot in episode 12 where the owls hover ominously in front of the multicoloured glowing eyes gave me such strong True Demon Ending from SMT:Nocturne vibes.

After being a little bit too outraged for my own good by the Kado stuff that kicked off after season 1 ended, I can easily admit to jumping into Kemono Friends 2 with pretty poor faith. But... I honestly really like this. It feels like the team has a solid understanding of what people (or, well, maybe just me) liked about season 1, if anything I'm enjoying this drastically more than Tatsuki's actual current production, Kemurikusa. There are definitely stylistic and production differences that make the viewing experience a tad awkward. It does look somewhat sterile, the OP and ED are unremarkable, the character animation is incredibly inconsistent. I really appreciate the tweets posted earlier pointing out the line of sights. But hey! Loving the characters still, can't wait to see what the deal is with Kyururu, and Serval. The ending of that last episode was excellent!

Couldn't help but laugh at the tears at the end of the episode. They looked like they were drawn on frame-by-frame with a phone's photo editing tools.

God I was so hopeful after those first few episodes. I got the impression they were able to continue the charming vibes of the first season, but it fell apart spectacularly. The Domestic Dog episode is a complete travesty and that finale blew chunks. I'm sad now. I will say I kind of enjoyed the weird estranged relationship Kaban and Serval exhibited like, twice in the whole season. There's something interesting happening there, but they refused to expand upon it.
