It was an interesting development, but I didn't think it was set up beforehand at all really. She could at least take her daughter on a vacation >  . Also the bit in ep10 when the physicist's wife had to put the burka back on and you could see her eyes was heartbreaking (in a long line of heartbreaking moments from this show)
