 Dragonball uses a word that translates to “artificial human” to describe all of Dr Gero’s creations, but the English translation just called them all androids. They include a Frankenstein-looking guy in OG Dragonball who may or may not be completely mechanical, several actual androids, Dr Gero’s brain in an android body, the “cyborgs” 17 and 18, and a monster who seems completely organic.I don’t think they every go into any detail as to what exactly was changed, other than an implanted self-destruct bomb and some kind of infinite power source.
