I can't source this, but I saw across a couple of Discords that someone saved a metric ton of the Other tab tickets, and the numbers heavily leaned against common advice and that those tickets do in fact take rate ups into consideration. Someone source pls if true.

This was a post on reddit with statistical backing to it. I don't have the link anymore, but I saw it a couple weeks ago and it appeared genuine. IIRC they drew all their tickets during legfest and didn't actually do a control group outside of it, so it's still possible if unlikely that the tickets just have a 6% SSR rate all the time. But yeah, might as well save 'em for legfest in case it makes a difference.

My friend drew Mahira in February with a left over New Years ticket so rate up can't possibly effect the other tab unless they have some weird way of boosting rates on tickets from another pool. E: to be more specific, in a legfest with rate up and using a ticket that draws from a separate pool from legfest, the draw numbers of non rate up characters would have to be different for the Other ticket than for the main gacha because Legfest would have a different number of SSRs to draw from New Years due to having a fixed 6% SSR rate, which is would basically be what got them in trouble in the first place with Anchira Eej fucked around with this message at 07:19 on Mar 8, 2017 |

Decided to give this thing a shot, seems kind of neat. I've been using the Harpist class line because they seem the most capable of punching above their weight on the event boss thanks to Superstar's Soloist and Bard's Angelic Voice II. Debuffs make up a ton of my score in Sandy fights right now.Zurai posted:Man, for a new account, this Harbinger of Trials fight is boring as poo poo. So I'm looking to skill up the Bahamut Nova from the event, but I've already reached the point where feeding it 20 level 1 skill SR weapons isn't going to give it a 100% chance. Does anyone have any information on how many more skill points a level 2 skill weapon gives over a 1, and so on?

The short version is that past skill level 2, you should use SSR weapons as fodder to skill up your Bahamut weapons. If you do so, the maths are simple: A Bahamut weapon needs SSR fodder with a combined skill level total equal to its own skill level. So a skill level 3 Bahamut weapon needs to fed a sl 3 SSR, or a sl 2 SSR and a lvl 1 SSR, or 3 level 1 SSR to gain a skill level. That's of course really expensive, for a gain equal to what skilling up any other SSR in your grid would give you, which is why it's generally advised to skill your Baha weapon last.

Keep getting tempted by the Draw Set and/or the premium draw, before remembered they're roughly $30 each (~$26.50 specifically). Does the GBF team ever on rare occasions just give pick tickets? Also, holy hell is that Sora no Kanade concert cheap. Even disregarding the SSR ticket and unique character, $50 for any seats at an orchestral concert is incredibly cheap. Even another JRPGish concert (one actually available in the US, for that matter) like Distant Worlds breaches $60, let alone an actual major orchestra by the Philadelphia Philharmonic or something (which ranges into the hundreds).

I heavily suspected not, but was just curious if it had ever happened. Oh well, maybe I'll put down some money a few months down the line if I'm still heavily into it GBF. And yeah, I really like concert orchestras (and I've been to both Distant Worlds and classical performances in the past) so I'd love to get into one at that price, but sadly it's not over here.

I saw New Worlds this morning, the other FF concert. The con it was at cost $55 for a weekend pass if you showed up the day of (like me), and the Saturday-only pass would have been just $35. (There was also a Q&A panel with the conductor last night. He's a cool dude.)

You're better off looking at what the weapons actually do for the moment, since a GW character is one hell of a grind - the defacto standard is to get the dagger, since it supercharges your multiattack rate.

The GW 5* grind its something fierce. Guess they're pushing for people to grab that 450 value bar. Maybe the celestials event will have will have another good bar. Or Baha ssjultimate will poo poo gold bars or the GW essences.

For the former, think about everything they've put into the game in the last few months. Everything they've done has encouraged diversification and investment in all elements and not just one. So now you're going to put 10 months of work into, say, upgrading Seox? Who you don't bring to any of the recent content that penalizes off-element? Obviously he's going to wreck poo poo everywhere else, but he already does that. It further diminishes what is already not that great a tradeoff. What is going to make your play better: 5*ing a single GW character, or getting more 4* GW characters to fill out your roster? This is putting aside that traditionally giving characters a 5* is meant to revitalize lagging characters. Half the GW roster is essentially ignored in favor of the other, better half, and this isn't going to fix that, it'll just put the final nail in the coffin. Naturally some crazy JP player already has one, which is unfortunate, because they're probably use that as an excuse to never change the grind, leaving it out of reach of most of the playerbase. It's a waste of content and the time they spent making that content. E: Lets not forget how anyone who made more then one GW character in the last year before they knew how that would gently caress them over, are now properly hosed over as far as the "faster" route is concerned, unless as you suggest they're going to add more gold bars.

I said this on discord but it's really the gold bars that offend me the deepest. Literally everything else I can happily chip away at over time. The chocobars don't bother me one whit. Hell, breaking the weapons doesn't even offend me! If I broke my gw sword for Siete or broke my ele-changed harp for Nio I'd just... make another ele-changed harp and not care about the sword. But the fuckin' gold bars. Give us a way to get them other than ridiculous flip rates. Put them in Casino for 100m chips, remove the limit on bars from Celestial grinding (but keep scaling the nug costs up), etc.
