I haven't seen it posted yet, but Unsolved Mysteries is now on Amazon Prime. The show is even creepier, since a lot of those cases that were still unsolved at the time are now on Forensic Files, and we see the outcomes.

We gazed into the eyes of madness... And all we found was horny.

Been watching this on Netflix recently.

I think the three that hosed me up the most were that one where Texas cops forced a false confession from two guys for a rape/robbery/murder of a pizza shop employee where one of the two got severe brain damage from a prison attack before they were exonerated, the one where a family friend killed them all and attempted to set it up to look like the husband did a murder-suicide, and the one where a guy killed his 18 y/o ex, then roped her best friend into helping him cut up and burn her body.

There's one I am remembering now where this kid dug up a corpse in a grave, put it in his car, then set it on fire to make it look like he died in a crash (I forget for what). The only problem was the idiot still hung around his old neighborhood. He simply died his hair a different color.

Think it was because he was about to head off to prison for being a kiddy diddler.

tl;dr without being too spoilery, the best part is a guy did a murder, put the body in a barrel, stashed it in his garage, where it sat FOR DECADES, and then when he moved out HE JUST LEFT IT THERE.

It's shocking to think how close he would've gotten to committing the perfect murder if he'd just waited until he'd loaded the corpse barrel onto his boat before he filled it with the plastic things.

...gently caress, I just remembered the most hosed-up episode I ever saw.

Basically, some adrenaline junkie Navy SEAL and his wife lure some tourists into a hotel room, kill them, and had sex involving their severed heads. Only got caught because they got drunk and attempted to burgle some store, and had their victims' wallets on them.

No idea if it was a FF episode, but the imprisonment of Shareef Cousin was goddamn awful.
TL;DR a guy gets shot in the face, Shareef is fingered as a suspect despite there being video evidence of him playing in a basketball game at the same time of the murder/ his coach driving him home. I believe the big parts of the case was 'he gave two inconclusive polygraphs', the victim's date picking him out of a lineup and someone being coerced by the police to say 'it was Shareef'

And it was all for nothing in the end, too. The insurance scam fell apart because the wife was stupid enough to leave her communications with her "dead" husband lying around that couldn't have raised more red flags if it tried.

I saw an episode where a guy was flirting with one of his lady friends so she grabbed him and brutally gouged both of his eyes out. and then her other friend tried to help her cover up the murder because he thought his chances of getting laid were so much better I guess.

Unsolved Mysteries is one of the greatest inventions in criminology, just behind fingerprinting. Seriously, every other episode airs and then within a day the suspect is identified by a viewer and caught.

I also love the dumbass paranormal ones. I watched one last night that was clearly some old man loving with his wife passively aggressively because she loving used a bell to call for him like she was some Victorian countess. The "hauntings" culminated in them getting rid of the bell, and the husband had a poo poo-eating grin the entire time.

Unsolved Mysteries owns.

GRAMAGEDDON ISN'T OVER YET. SORRY.-RA TEHUTI :smuggo::smug::smugdon::grin::parrot:
The episode with the house filled with toxic mold that kills the baby and gives the husband brain damage always makes me cry. They wound up with 6 million dollars in the suit with the insurance company but lost everything they had. The house and everything in it had to be carefully demolished and sent away in sealed plastic bags to be completely destroyed.

Plus they were really well-off, so six million dollars actually doesn't mean much to them considering their lives are entirely, yeah, destroyed.

I also cried at the Odwalla juice one.

This one is really neat, it's almost scary how talented that forensic artist was. Just a warning though, some of the older episodes were pretty graphic with the crime scene photos.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-i_2bqjVNX0

That excuse about him murdering his family over money problems was bullshit. Their house had a stained glass skylight that was apparently worth at least a hundred grand.
