Indiana missing the tournament is bad enough, but refusing to host a home game as the #3 seed in the NIT is an even dumber look. This season just keeps getting inexplicably worse. At least Mike Davis is back in the tournament (again) with Texas Southern.

I respect Crean for what he did for our program, but it was definitely time for him to go. Hope he does well somewhere else. Please just don't hire Alford now. And believe me, IU fans are loving embarrassed and angry about the NIT thing too.

I just hope that the administration doesn't settle for Alford or someone like Dane Fife or Randy Wittman just because they're "Indiana Guys." Indiana basketball has its cultural quirks, as all programs do, but it's not like it's impenetrable to someone who didn't play here. A loud contingent of fans wants a guy who does things "the Indiana way" or some stupid poo poo like that, but I think (hope) Fred Glass and the administration are smarter than that.

Credible sources say Indiana is in advanced talks with Archie Miller. E: 7 year contract, could be signed today. E2: official. Archie Miller will be the next head coach of the Indiana Hoosiers. Hello Towel fucked around with this message at 17:51 on Mar 25, 2017 |

Things are starting to come together for next year for Indiana now that the coaching situation is more settled. De'ron Davis, Josh Newkirk, and Colin Hartman are confirmed to be returning, and it looks like Juwan Morgan will be back as well. James Blackmon Jr. has declared for the draft without hiring an agent. Even if he doesn't make an NBA roster, he's most likely going pro somewhere. I'd imagine OG will declare soon too. Robert Johnson, since he's getting his degree early, is definitely a transfer possibility, though I think his playing style would make him a better fit under Archie than he was under Crean. I haven't heard anything at all about Jones or Green. The biggest question, of course, is still Thomas Bryant. There's rumblings that he wants to transfer, but that seems bizarre. Either stay another year at Indiana or go to the draft. I'd bet he goes to the draft, but we'll see.

OG Anunoby is declaring for the draft and hiring an agent, to no one's surprise. He'll go down as one of the great "what could have been" careers in IU history.
