All dogs are good dogs. If you checked every dog on your top dog ballot, you were doing right in the eyes of the Lord. But some dogs are exceptional, and Loukanikos was an exceptional dog.

Loukanikos was a riot dog, and he fought in many a riot. He always sided with the civilians against the riot police. It is normally easy for a dog to tell the two sides apart: the police have uniforms and helmets and shields and batons and water cannons and tear gas and rubber bullets, and the civilians do not.

But in 2011, as the Greek austerity measures grew ever harsher, there came a time when even some of the police could no longer pay their rent, and in their despair, they too took to the streets to demonstrate. Other police met them there to put down this disloyal display. When Loukanikos showed up, he was confused: here were police facing other police!

As soon as the attack started, however, Loukanikos knew which side he was on: he sided with the demonstrators, against the police sent to shut the demonstration down.

Loukanikos always stood up for the underdog. He is now a symbol of righteous rebellion, of justice, fairness, courage, and freedom. He was also a real dog, an exceptionally good dog. If you have not yet voted, and if you are not voting for all the dogs, consider checking Loukanikos on your ballot alongside your choice.

With over 1800 votes, we still don't even have a full page of pledges. Sad!

Loukanikos's nominee is particularly worthy, but all good dogs promote good causes, so no matter which dog wins, your pledge will help someone in need. Come join us.

All dogs are good dogs, but some dogs are exceptional, and while kayak the video game dog has to wear goggles every time he goes outside to shield his eyes from Earth's harsh sun, Loukanikos once charged a live tear gas grenade and bit the bejezus out of it!

To honor Loukanikos, my :toxx: shall be two dollars for every percentage point of voters that check Louk in their vote, which I think is currently a bit over $50. If you haven't voted yet, be sure to check Louk so it will go up!

Ride now for Loukanikos! Ride to ruin and the world's end!
