Like there's a decent amount of pop music I'm not into, but when I first heard Tik Tok I was literally wincing in embarrassment for Kesha because it's such a horribly bad song. Just actually feeling bad for her for how much it sucked.

A friend of mine used to describe the usual theme of Kesha's tracks as "love letter to my death wish," which seems way more grim in light of everything that's come out.

This is my favourite Kesha song: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=o7zuq6wU8Ok In all seriousness, though, add me to the list of shameful gays who can't stand her music. I've always liked her as a public figure, though, she's amusing as all hell and I admire the poo poo out of her for speaking out about Dr. Luke and taking it to court.

She knew it would be a disaster to let Nina make it to the end.

so nina is smart enough to realise that ru has motivations to get her out, but too paranoid to realise that she is the only one that can fix it. truly a self-destructive queen for the ages.

Kesha was a terrible judge, and it had nothing to do with her weight. I feel for her. She has been through A LOT in the last several years. That she still looks as good as she does is great. But as a judge, she was more boring than Noah Galvin. Who is a very cute 23 year old man. But he had nothing interesting to say as a judge, even while being fed lines by the producers.

Kesha was fantastic because she got Wintergreen extra screen time. True, her drag judging was at a John Salley level but who cares, good things happened in that episode and I'm going to credit the Kesh with part of that.

I figured long ago that Shea and Sasha were a lock for top 3. The third slot would be fought for by Trinity, Peppermint, and Valentina (RIP). With Trinity winning a third challenge, I'd say it's pretty likely that she'll be in the top 3. Now, I'm not so sure Shea is the clear winner. She dropped the ball this week, while Trinity won a third challenge by herself. I guess it depends on how well either of them does in next week's ball. Hell, if Sasha ends up winning the ball, it might be even more of a toss-up.

As much as I was rooting for Nina I'm glad it's over for her. It's very clear there's something RuPaul sees in Nina like a past shadow self, especially with that final name send-off. I hope she accepts the sort of help someday that convinces her she's worth it. Her level of depression is disheartening. While I agree with Shea's and Sasha's past remarks about her, there seems to be a willingness from some queens and viewers to ignore her possible issues and blow it off as "negativity." I can't remember where I saw this but someone remarked that if Nina were a white, twinky, art queen you'd have Tumblr falling all over to defend her. P.S. I'd check the gently caress out between Alexis's excuses and the overstated screeching too. angerbeet posted:Anyway Winter Green for Miss C.

i get the shea love, but honestly she strikes me as a "queen of all trades, master of none", and i think that's going to land her a runner-up spot. i don't know how to articulate it properly, but i think sascha and trinity both have more specific conceptual drag "characters" - the intellectual art queen, the bitchy blabbermouth showgirl. with shea you get incredibly polished shea realness, but ultimately i'm not sure what that is aside from one cool ride.

I have thought the same thing, even when I was sure she was the clear winner. There's no "thing" that really of defines her drag, even though she's incredibly well rounded. Winners have all been experts at one thing and okay with the rest. Bebe has a timeless, regal aesthetic. Raja and Violet are high fashion. Sharon has an aesthetic that is pretty much her own. Jinkx is old-Hollywood camp/performance. Chad embodies Cher while also being a queen in her own right. Bianca, Bob, and Alaska are comedy. The only one I can't really pin down is Tyra, who I honestly think wouldn't stand a chance in current seasons.

Tyrah would have been fine in the current seasons because she really was multi talented. She could sew, and dance, and sing (welp. "sing"), and act (her acting like a human was almost convincing!), and make Ru love her to death.

She never stood out to me, especially on the level of queens like Juju and Raven. About halfway through the season, when she was being read on stage by the entire rest of the cast, I suddenly remembered "Holy poo poo, this girl goes on to win, doesn't she? How the gently caress did that even happen?" Because up until then, her talents were mostly putting away the bitchy attitude, laziness and lovely mind games long enough to get on stage. She was consistently okay, but the only challenge where she really caught my eye was the wedding dress runway. (Though she ruined it by basically saying "I ran to the mirror first, and put on makeup facial hair. So everyone who did that incredibly simple and common thing after me was totally coping me! ")

She also benefited from her major missteps coming when she had immunity.

All she saw was America's Sweetheart, not the screeching rear end in a top hat laying on a couch backstage. Also, I distinctly remember hating Tati the first time I watched it, now I find myself cheering for her more often than not. Not knowing who Oscar Wilde was is still completely inexcusable, though.
