Also American clowns in the 20th century are unique from their European predecessors thanks to, like, mass media and postwar economics. Italians from 200 years ago didn't have surly neighborhood guys show up at their birthday parties or watch Bozo on tv. Clowns weren't set aside as for children and largely stayed inside theater and festivals for most of their existence. Young Ebert knew what was up with the 50s.

I'm watching the 90s miniseries now and I'm surprised by all the Vancouver tv regulars who show up in what must be one of the first us tv productions to film there. So far Smoking Man and Mulder's sister from X-Files have shown up, both looking young as hell. Smoking Man has brown hair, still!

Then a final scene of Mike phoning Bill and the final words should be "It's back." I hope the soundtrack has a Fat Boys song about the events of the movie and that the actor playing It does some of the rapping in it.
