I was really pleasantly surprised by this, I had liked the trailer but everything about Pennywise felt off/trying too hard. That he ended up being really good/creepy was a nice bonus, but the movie worked best thanks to the chemistry between the kids and they really captured the hosed up "everything is just kinda off" nature of Derry.Shneak posted:My audience applauded at Ben kissing Bev and "NOW I'M GOING TO HAVE TO KILL THIS loving CLOWN!" The Losers Club beating the poo poo out of Pennywise was so therapeutic. That latter moment was so great, I loved that Pennywise was trying to frighten each one individually with their greatest fears, only to be attacked by the others . IT is a predator but also a bully, and the power of their group standing together against it rendering it's tricks ineffective was really great. Did anybody else get a sense that some Richie stuff was cut out? I vaguely recall from the book that Pennywise appears when he takes Beverly to a double-feature, taking on the form of the Wolf-Man or the Mummy (or both?) but he convinces himself it was a dream and refuses to accept that it actually happened even when everybody else admits to being menaced by the clown? Towards the end of the movie we see Pennywise start to take on Wolf-Man/Mummy like features and it felt like a callback to something we hadn't actually seen, perhaps a filmed scene that got cut for time?
