Morons don't wear cages in beer league.
Fixed. I wouldn't trust a bunch of amateurs to keep their sticks down. Feeling cool isn't worth losing an eye because some doofus tripped over the blue line and flailed his stick around.

Eventually they'll get grandfathered in in the NHL. Who'll be the 21st century MacTavish?

Oh, I'm dumb. I meant visors will be grandfathered in. No way the NHL mandates cages before the CHL does.

Kids with those loving names are going to be calling the shots eventually, I'm never going to be able to take them seriously.

I know I'm late to the twitter party but, I'd like to present a one man play, in 5 acts...

"Holy poo poo, Professional Hockey Player Zach Boychuk followed me on twitter!
Wait, what?
I follow some players and I've retweeted Bob Mckenzie like twice, and tweeted at r-lam once, that's weird.:raise:
Oh, he follows half a million people.:ohdear:
I'm not special after all. :("

-Me, earlier tonight.

PS I'm soliciting your recommendations on who to follow.

Knowing nothing about Rangers hockey beyond how he's one of the best goalies not to have a ring, I'm going with yes.
I just looked this up. Here's goalies ranked by wins all-time and here they are by playoff wins. Cujo is the only goalie without a cup higher than him on either list, by 49 wins all time, and only 2 playoff wins.

:smith:

Edit: Though I did learn Tony Esposito was on the 69 Habs and has a ring. :unsmith:

1) Luongo has more regular season wins, and has no ring.
2) If you played for the Habs at some point between 1950 and 1979 and you didn't get a ring, you have the right to feel that the universe is out to get you and specifically you.

Oops, you're right, I overlooked Bobby Lou. I was legit ignorant Esposito was a Hab at one point. That's like when I learned Orr was a Blackhawk, or Neely was a Canuck.

I know they aren't done, but even having those numbers for an instant in the off season shows staggeringly poor management.

These are really bad. Look closely, there are no more crests. There are literally holes in the logo where the base color matches.
Yeah, without backing the fabric around the crest is going to pucker and distort and look like poo poo unless the jersey is brand new.

I bet that's a feature, not a bug.

Also I'm glad Fleury is going somewhere that they'll play him, and love him, and clean up after him, and take him to the dog park every day. :cheerdoge:

If the guy really is the best teammate ever, he is exactly what a new club needs.

Esposito actually has his name on the cup once. He dressed as back-up for the 4 games of the finals in '69.

Whether you count that as 'winning a cup' is up to you.

I thought their might be more jersey pics at shop.nhl.com, so I went there and spotted these Pride shirts with rainbow logos on them. While I'd call it a victory for equality and justice when that poo poo goes mainstream, I can't help but feel like it's a bit premature for a league that hasn't had an out player yet.

Dunno, maybe stuff like this will make it easier for him when it does happen, though.

I think the Avs are the only team that came out with a better looking jersey than their old one.

The Sabres ditched the silver armpits, which is a definite improvement.

But yeah, mostly lateral or downward moves.

Edit: Now that I think of it, classic jerseys that weren't hosed up in some major way should be chalked up as wins. No piping for the Rangers? Great. The Bleu, Blanc et Rouge did not add magenta? Victory. Blackhawks still have chain stitching and no gradient? Wonderful.
