Problem description: My brand new Lenovo laptop (inexpensive model, I know) does not seem to have any provision to just scroll with one finger down the right side of the touchpad. Is there a way to get this?

Attempted fixes: I looked at the Synaptics settings but instead of having checkboxes, including one for scrolling, like my Windows 8 laptop had, there are tabs, with no provisions for one-finger scrolling, and two-finger scrolling that doesn't always seem to work. i'm sorry, I wish I had images. Are there new drivers or a different version of Synaptics out now? I tried Googling, but there doesn't seem to be much pertinent info out there.

Recent changes: Just activated the laptop. Reset once
