WHO ABUSED HIM. WHO ABUSED THE BOY.
Good luck surviving this hellish gauntlet. 'Allen Gregory' could be the most joyless, empty animated thing fox has ever tried to air, and that's including 'Bordertown'.

If that was the best of the show, I don't think it works.
It doesn't, it's monotone monkeycheese trash. It's even more humiliating because PFFR was a year away from being picked up by Adult Swim with 'Xavier: Renegade Angel', the post 'Wondershowzen' victory lap that's exactly what a brilliant, consistently clever joke-packed dadaist tapestry looks like when lovingly forged by talented creators

Moonbeam City: Dumbass detective acts like an rear end in a top hat and treats everyone around him like poo poo. The animation was engaging and the music was good, the writing not so much. It might have improved if it had gotten a second season, but it, uh…. does anyone else have déjà vu for some reason?
Moonbeam City was dope and mostly funny, so it's an invalid choice. Suffer Well

WHO ABUSED HIM. WHO ABUSED THE BOY.

These next few episode reviews are less about suffering and more about figuring out “What went wrong here?”. Chozen/Moonbeam City/Unsupervised (I think) aren’t so much unredeemably bad shows as they are heavily flawed shows that failed to find an audience. I figured nothing could be as bad Allen Gregory, so I picked a few shows that were almost kind of good to follow it up.
It's a straight-up falsehood to imply that a show must've done something wrong to be cancelled after its pilot season, though. For every handful of 'allen gregory' shaped turds, there's a 'Clone High' shaped diamond

Clone High aired on MTV. That's what it did wrong.
It was a severely Canadian Nelvana production, so its debut broadcast airdates were on Teletoon over 2 months ahead of its first appearance on MTV.
