In short: it is not at all worth the effort. It also doesn't help that Arsene doesn't have the greatest set of resistances, which means you need to burn valuable skill slots to cover them. His only real claim to fame skill-wise anyway is that he's like the only decent Persona with Curse damage for like fifteen levels.

Speaking of base levels, I'm pretty sure the experience the 'sacrifice' in gallows fusion gives you depends on their base level. So even if Arsene is level 30 or something, if you use him to strengthen another persona, he gives the same experience he did at level 3. Like 15 or something. So I think that depends entirely on your base level.

I find it interesting that the game forces the issue. I suppose it makes sense that everyone else could be a bit panicky.

I did not make the connection between your MC's name and goddamned Jedi. Now I'm annoyed. Also, looking at that blackmail picture, it's very obvious that the kids are out of place there. Are you telling me that no one is going to question if the gang was taken here against their will?

In fairness, while it's technically possible to obtain 3 million yen this early through a method of grinding money in Mementos, it would take hours anyways, and presumably he'd just keep blackmailing the party anyways

The fortune teller is pretty neat. I wonder if that talisman actually prevents instant death or something. Also I love how the graffitipunk tarot cards are apparently just a thing enough to be used as a visual aid during class.

The story of Ohya's confidant is somewhat cliched, but I find it among the best for being rooted in adult issues - somewhat similar to All-Good Tora in overall tone. Actual mechanical perks most people agree on almost useless.

I like what they do with Ohya as it digs in deeper into what the Phantom Thieves actually do. That and free charm is always a good addition.

Beyond one scene that is probably ill advised, I thought it was all right, even though the perks you get are as mentioned not very good. The voice actress does a good job with her; it's Yukino's voice actress from the last game, and she does a good job with portraying the character- one of my favorite bits is the establishing scene is the way Ohya shifts from silly drunk to perceptive reporter in one dramatic cutaway ("As if.") but it's not really something you get from reading.

I'd like to mention Ohya's confidant sucks and her perks may as well not exist. The next confidant we'll likely pick up though, is arguably one of the best in the game from a gameplay perspective.

+1 vote for Ohya is a good character. Maybe not great, but far from terrible. The fortune teller is more interesting, and has by far the most useful abilities of any non-team member. Once you gain access to her, you absolutely have to rank her up to 7 as quickly as possible. Nothing is more important. When she was first announced, I thought she'd be a fraud who would teach you how to con people. But no. She's the real deal. It didn't sit well with me at first. Clairvoyance? Really? But this is a world with magic in it. Her powers definitely don't fit with the mentality-based persona abilities, but there's nothing to say that other, unrelated forms of magic can't exist, and the team just doesn't have access to them. Just look at an entity like Nyx. Its power is clearly different in a fundamental way.

We can only pick that confidant after we beat Kaneshiro's palace, but in terms of confidant abilities it is best confidant ever, assuming we are talking about Star You may also be talking about the fortune teller, she's useful too. We can form a confidant with her before we beat the palace. Ohya's confidant story is interesting but she's my least favourite both in terms of design and abilities. Those are actually simplified versions of the Marseille Tarot rather than the heavily modified Rider-Waite from previous games so they're actually much closer to real cards now. My theory is that since Maaku isn't as friendly with Igor as other Wild Cards he's mentally using a real deck that got popular in 20XX rather than the Velvet Room's version. Question for Arist. What's the spoiler policy in this thread? Both in general and for character stats. Because I kinda wanna compare the characters we have so far statwise but I'm kinda hazy on how cool it is to talk about specific skills characters get later on.
