Problem description:

I was having trouble updating my iTunes so that I could put music on my phone, I was getting an "itunes6464.msi" error.

Attempted fixes:

I followed the advice a few websites suggested and searched for the .msi file and deleted it. I then went to uninstall iTunes, which was the next step in the guide, and got this:



I downloaded Microsoft Fix It, but thought I'd ask for help here first since it didn't work out the first time.

The computer itself is a Dell XPS 8300, I'm not certain why it says Toshiba Notebook in the shot above

The newer incarnations of Itunes are just awful, I had major issues trying to connect my perfectly good Ipod and sync.

Your best bet is to roll back to an older version, I think 7 works okay (they're up to 12).
