I read the book years and years ago and honestly don't remember a whole lot, but this felt good. Real good. Weirder than I thought it would be, but at the same time just as weird as it should be. Probably. Assorted thoughts: Some of the effects looked a little cheap. Audrey's scene was great. I don't know if it's just my soundbar's settings, but I felt like the dialogue was kinda hard to pick out at times. Technical Boy was a lot of fun to see.

One more thing I liked: In the viking prologue, once the fighting starts, you can see the arm holding the sword breaking the letterboxed frame. Fun little touch.

double nine posted:Anyone among the book readers who tried picking up coin tricks after reading American Gods? I tried coin tricks as well as zippo lighter tricks (I know, I know), but after I realized that I'm just a fidgety guy and need something to do with my hands, I got into the wacky world of fidget spinners. You don't have to go insane with the collections or the tactilol EDC kits like some of the folk in that subreddit, but having a chunk of plastic/metal that I can absentmindedly flick back and forth with one hand has actually helped a lot with my concentration at work.

Justin Credible posted:A really solid if slightly meandering first ep. Fuller doesn't seem to be about a super tight plot and narrative, it's more about broader stuff and little moments, with the actors and scenes usually having some space to breathe. Shot composition is as rich as I expected, and that intro is loving awesome. I'm pretty surprised at how quickly things turned to poo poo. Usually it takes a few days, once people have exhausted talking about the episode and have started arguing about inane bullshit. There was a very clear indication in the OP to not talk about book stuff, which half the posts have promptly ignored. And spoiling things under the guise of "it's so obvious!!" isn't any better. I mean, it's not my job to police the thread, but I just wanted to talk about the show without dragging future events into it 404notfound fucked around with this message at 07:27 on May 2, 2017 |

But at the end of the day he's still a bit of an rear end in a top hat in The Wire. (although not as annoying as Ziggy) He was Ricky Falcone on that one Christmas episode of Always Sunny

Isn't there a general TVIV rule about discussing an episode without spoilers before it's aired?

I'd love to see a depiction of Yahweh looking over a phone and declaring it technically acceptable, which as we all know, is the best kind of acceptable.
