And I'm still missing 12 characters.

I stopped after people started funneling into ARAM and taking THAT too seriously. Complaining about the "draft" in ARAM lmao no thanks! Bring back the Stiches brawl where you hook people over the pool in the middle.

fuck the fuck off.
QM always just needed a lightweight draft at the start of the match (not minutes long, give everyone a slot and 10 seconds) to stop nonsense situations with lineups one side can’t touch, but ‘it’s the fun mode!’ reigned supreme, and playing Ranked meant longer-than-match-itself queue times.

The entire point of quickmatch is its the “play the exact hero you want to play” mode. Yeah, that results in unbalanced lineups, but you get to play the exact hero you wanted to play. Why the gently caress would I queue into QM when I want to play Murky and my team makes me draft as healer (or be the guy that “fucks over the team” by ignoring comp)?

If I were to do it, I'd just give people the opportunity to reselect at the beginning of a game. The core balance issue with HOTS was that it encouraged teams to consider composition - either it needed to allow people to do that or change the balance to be like LoL where comp wasn't that important. The reason Brawl works is that it gives folks the ability to consider comp but doesn't force them into an elaborate selection process. That's what QM should have done.

QM is fine and these suggestions of a mini draft or changing a hero aren’t awful but they wouldn’t make it better. You get a 75% chance at a workable comp in my experience for a queue time that’s drastically faster than ranked and you get to play what you want.

I get that folks don't particularly like having to think about composition - the Team Fortress and the Tribes series have had the same issue. It's difficult to build a game that is balanced around team play while also ensuring that every role is equally interchangeable. The HOTS folks initially hoped to balance heroes within their own class, but the QM automation struggled to balance all the various elements and come up with competitive matches. They ended up flattening the character diversity and increasing the number of tags, but it never really fixed the fundamental issue that people don't like being pushed into assuming a role. I'd expect that one of the takeaways from HOTS is that devs are going avoid balancing games like that.

I actually got out of it pretty fast (other than a long queue) because it matched me to a good non-leaver team. Thankfully.

Her current puncturing arrow build feels a lot safer than the rest of her kit but still lets you do ridiculous damage to your target. It requires you to always cast it on a hero every time it's off cooldown (and after you get the dash refresh, casting it twice on a hero every cooldown) to get the stacks. it can be tiresome and is very weak early game.

Once you get those stacks though, she has some of the hardest poke/burst damage in the game. It is short range and she is fragile, but if you catch someone out of position and quickly land both Q hits on them, you can immediately walk away to safety and let them die from the homing/chain hits that finish the job. It feels a lot safer than her other builds, and does less overall damage on the charts. But it bags you kills that matter and you put yourself in a lot less danger than her other builds do.

It also has the benefit that all endless stacking quests do. When you land a hit and get a stack, it goes DING. Making it go DING DING and my number go up releases the good brain chemicals, so I keep doing the same thing DING DING all match,

Raynor and Tychus work the same way

There is no reason for ANY Hero to 100% someone unavoidably without using their Ult. If the counter play is ‘Don’t be in range of Q’ you hosed up.

But as I said, it’s been a long time since the Blizzard that made these games actually existed, so, who cares.

Focus her and kill her in early game so she can’t get stacks is the counter.

I'll never understand why these kind of people insist on playing versus real people when they could just play versus the AI and get the kind of "easy curbstomp without any real resistance from the enemy team" experience that they're looking for.

it is both a monkey and a boombox
loving DVA and Guldan in every game these days. Guldan seems annoyingly braindead to me to get stupid amounts of damage with but whatever at least you can kill him.

DVA is one of my most hated characters in this game. Disrupts the gently caress out of you whenever you start a fight, massive body so you can't get to her healer, and on top of all that has 3 loving HEALTH BARS you have to chew through before you can hope to kill her. I truly don't understand why anyone would play any other tank. Maybe she doesn't get a ton of hero kills, but she's is perhaps the single hardest hero to actually finish in the game. Every team fight against her you have to reset when her stupid self-destruct goes off. It's just feel-bad all the way down.

guldan succ build is probably the easiest build to play in the entire game and has been for some time. press button for easy damage and massive sustain. if you start getting focused you can throw skillshots and walk away.

d.va is arguably one of the strongest bruisers ever designed, almost unkillable if played properly. she's basically a tanky murky that carries around the egg instead of hiding it. i'd say she's up there with dehaka as one of the best bruisers

Hadn't played in quite some time, but logged on and its still fun to have a smoke or drink and just play ARAM. It can be fun even if you get crushed (unless you're a healer or tank), just pew pew and get those satisfying casino noises kith mentioned. The more heroes you are familiar with the more fun aram is, and the more you play aram the more heroes you become familiar with.

Plus it's a more interesting way to get every character gold (lvl 15), less tiresome than doing them one at a time IMO (might depend on sobriety level).
