Having emigrated to Australia, it’s been great to discover that nothing transfers between HOTS regions, and there’s no way to even request it. That’s just awesome.

I wish there was a mid-ground between the two - I love the depth and counterplay of DOTA, but there's mechanical things about HOTS (Team level, Talents over Items, some of the mapping, game length) that I really enjoy. (It's not League.)

I'm rapidly growing to like Fenix, but focussing on Inhibiting Energy at 4. If you reliably land Q and play mostly in Phase Bomb stance, you slow everything you come near, which then empowers Plasma Cutter further at 7 and Photonic Weaponry at 16. You're basically only switching back to Repeater Cannon when Q is on cooldown or you're in a sustained 1v1 to DPS someone down, but gaining slows everywhere, I can't figure out why people are taking Target Aquired, which 10% +MS but requires you to be at a very unsafe Fenix range to do.

That Valeera wasn't 'Generic Rogue' and doesn't have an equivalent 'Generic <WoW Class>' Hero for each class, and that you don't have a skin option that is 'Dressed like your WOW character from the Armoury' continually surprises me. It's such an obvious way to make money from cross-pollinating from WoW players that I'm actually alarmed they haven't done it.

Kel'thuzad feels super fun in his kit, you get to pull all sort of shenanigans, but he really doesn't feel like you get enough for the amount of work you put in. Every time I play him I'm basically saying 'I could have achieved this damage with much less effort on some other Assassin', and his lack of escape or defensive options means Butcher etc. can often blow you up nearly unavoidably. I mean, having not-Sunstrike is nice, though.

Medvidh pre-Q completion is the most stressful thing in the game, and post it's the funniest, clownshoes rollercoaster of not-giving-a-gently caress you can get in HOTS? Having some Illidan charge you, so you Portal away, he Hunts back to you so you go back through the same Portal then turn into a Birb and taunt spray

I'm really partial to the whole of Fenix' kit, even both Ults. It's somehow just so nicely put together that it feels lovely to play. E: Runner up award goes to using Kelthuzad ult as a DOTA Sunstrike, and hitting people out of LOS as they try to juke or w/e.

Sure; I mean, that was a very flippant post. Having played most of the cast at one time or another, I just don't see what she's even meant to do theoretically. If you use E to go in, you're an incredibly squishy Assassin in melee range, and D is not going to keep you alive very long OR has a low enough cooldown to be reusable. Are you supposed to try to make W break, or use it as a way to force them to stay close so you can melee? Fan of Knives has a tiny range (and a weird arc) too. It just all seems very... janky. Like, I don't understand right now what she's for.

Flippantpost: Even as someone who has levelled Medivh to 10 (TWICE!) I still can't see why you'd want Ley Line Seal. Polymorph Bomb would be a good button (as an instant hard disable with no cast time or projectile) without spreading. With, it's a teamfight decider that is much less hassle to use. Then, I'm that greedy gently caress who hardly ever Portals for someone else (what'll be the point, they won't use it and then *I* might need it.) Medivh is just The Best.

Tassadar Ticklebeam plus Wall might be the most fun thing in the game. Watching Assassins realise 'Oh poo poo I'm losing' mid-way through you standing and manfighting them is deeply funny. I don't mind him power level, but the game really, really is falling into a pit of 'hyper-mobility or suck' and it makes bothering to have good positioning/movement less valuable, which I can't stand. When you have a love for traditional casters with combos like KTZ, this is a fairly sad place to be. (Though gently caress Cromie forever, who is basically that only without any of the aiming or timing required.)

Fair response really; I'm probably biased specifically over KTZ, as I love playing him so much but given he doesn't even get Ice Block, you just get to die if you miss a Chain. (I'd argue all 3 of those make up for their lack of mobility by having 'reliability' baked into their nukes.)
