Oh, it's still impossible to break if you don't reuse the fricking pad cough cough, but I thought we were discussing whether it's theoretically possible for an OTP-encoded text to yield multiple plaintexts, given sufficient keyspace.

I like "AP last year released guidelines saying journalists shouldn't focus on property destruction" as if the IDF bombing an apartment building to dust is the same as a window getting broken during a BLM protest.

The funny thing with people not getting the Monty Haul problem is there's only 3 doors and you can just model all outcomes to prove it's better to switch. If your intuition was wrong, that's fine; it happens to a lotta good people. But to still not get it after mapping outcomes?

There’s also the opposite approach, where you imagine a largish number of doors, say twenty. Month Hall opens eighteen of them to reveal goats. How can a person still believe that the odds that they correctly picked the car and should not switch are one in two?

That's a valid point, adding more "revealed goats" helps illustrate the issue.

It's just very difficult to get over the hurdle of 2 doors = 1/2 chance. People ignore the amount of starting doors (actually, that's what the guy in the tweet does). Can't really blame them.
