If anyone has Sling TV, they're doing a free Showtime weekend, so you can put off subscribing for a couple days.

I love Twin Peaks. I discovered it Halloween 2002 when Bravo aired the pilot. I have all the books. I even named my dog Cooper. Coincidentally, the vet estimated that he was born on February 24, the day Laura was discovered in the water. That tripped me out when she told me.

Here's Cooper, the pup. Let's hope the dude he's named after turns out OK in the end.

The fan-edit of FWWM with deleted scenes added back in is good. All the extra Chett Desmond is a lot of fun.

The end of part 2 was the perfect way to end the premiere. It felt like Twin Peaks again, and made me feel feelings for James. Which was a shock, really.

Secret History is good, but retcons the poo poo out of most of season two.

Mark Frost's dad, who played Doc Hayward, died of Alzheimer's right before the show began, and he supposedly has a cameo in this. Maybe we'll never get Cooper back. Maybe Mark Frost made sure to re-team with Lynch to show how bad wanting your loved ones back after they are gone can be.

I can't wait to hear what my mom thinks about this one. She loves the original series, hates the movie, has never seen anything besides Twin Peaks that Lynch has done, and has pushed through the first seven episodes despite them being "too weird." It's gonna be great.

She knows that they're from "above the convenience store" but the woodsmen are probably lost on her since she saw the movie only one time when it came out and hated it.
