An apartment for a cockpit is ideal for extended missions. Plus you can invite your girlfriend along!

Then you can have a cockpit in your cockpit! I'm so sorry

I think it would be cool if sensor lock let you fire just one weapon after using it, though that would heavily favour lights building around one big weapon.

Also 4 mech lances has been an integral part of BT since the 80s.

edit:

So was this. TT you have a 1 in 12 chance of shooting a mech in the face every roll. Watching your assault get blow away by an AC20 to the dome is about as core BT as it gets.

It's 1 in 36 actually, the hit location is determined by 2 d6's, a 12 will headshot, so it's double sixes or not the face.

I seem to be a major repository of such since I also like those gundam/battletech abominations, and think they'd fit in as a branch of mechs that specialize in agility and myomer strength. Although that Jenner seems to have a few dislocations.

I think a thing that could bring up assaults a bit is if they got an extra chunk of bonus move when they sprint, representing that when an assault does get up to speed they can have a lot of momentum keeping their bulk going to combine with an assault size amount of myomer. Disadvantage could be absolutely no wiggle room to change facing.

Literally all I am suggesting for this game is some kind of event that logically lets you tell the Restoration to gently caress off because you have a better offer.

I think this would be a good touch, but I would also want the opportunity to use the directorate's offer to extort more cash from the restoration. If we're going to get really fancy that pay raise could come with the caveat of pushing the restoration a little closer to broke, meaning you have to get to make up the difference yourself.

You can also go with 'we've been keeping this targeting computer from a different mech going with bubblegum and tinfoil' 'all my weapons are festooned about my mech's body and we don't have good enough tools to properly align them anymore' and 'I shoot my weapons one at a time so I don't miss with everything at once.' This is pretty much the fight the developers have been having with the entrenched fanbase since day one. Even having the original creator of the game and universe on board hasn't prevented some fans from lamenting any and all changes.

Early on there was an incident where someone through all their toys out of the pram after backing the original kick starter and finding out there may be ECM in the game in some sort of form possibly. It got so bad that MItch (studio head) called him personally and told him if he didn't like it he could jog on and refunded his pledge.

I am a big fan of Mitch, he is very good at saying 'No' to people.

Fair reminder that the primary reason Clan LRMs don't have a minimum range in the tabletop game is because somebody typoed it when they were first writing the Clan weapons table, and when after the book was released they went 'Uhh that's not right we should fix that', the BT community's collective response was 'it's already in the book I have my hands on my ears, laaa laa la laaaa, I can't hear you'.

BT Nerds - Taking full advantage of a typo mistake is more important than a fun well balanced game.
