Jesus god, I only have the first 205 but this thing is amazing. It's like it's everything I dreamed the 205 would be (except it needs cannons). I'm stuck at 4.3 all the time because of the huge swarms of G55s, but I never feel like anything's outflying it.

Honestly the first Veltro is the one I'm having the most fun with, purely because it's fairly bonkers and low enough to be able to not have to rely on diving on everyone all the time. I'm really enjoying the Sottoserie 0 though, the armament 100% in the nose is brilliant for deflection shooting. It's basically a perfect mix between a Spitfire, Bf109, and Fw190.

The only problem I have with the first Veltro is I've yet to be in a match that isn't 4.3 in it, and I get a hell of a lot more assists than kills because I am not the best shot with those Italian .50s. I swear they have the muzzle velocity of the American 37mm.

they do, basically. they're nice at very close range with sustained fire but when speeds increase and your window to fire and actually hit the enemy gets smaller, they really suffer

I have found my happy place and its tank RB with the M36 and a rocket/bomb laden P51 and P47 as my planes. The glorious M82 shell + 10 degree gun depression, the fighter agility with attack plane ordinance - the joy is pure.

Breda-SAFAT 12.7 mm might be one of my favorite guns now; the velocity tradeoff is sort of offset by how often they're central mounted. They always have a good magazine size, they have a good sound effect, and their velocity just works for me. Seems like they don't do much structural damage, but dish out plenty of critical damage, so it's really fun to just pick your opponent apart until they catch fire or get pilotsniped. Even in the bombers where you usually only get one gun active at any time, I'm killing a disgusting number of pursuers.

The Japanese 12.7 got a buff similar to the Breda-SAFAT. The Ki-61-I Otsu is a complete beast now.

They work fine at killing, I just have to keep reminding myself they're not American .50s as another stream of shells all whiz past someone's tail because I under-led another deflection shot.

The good: Damage modeling is nice and shells go where you aim them unlike WoT so it actually rewards skill. RB tanks is good because you can also fly planes but have to earn spawn points to do it. Arcade is pretty awful but can be a quick way to get the obligatory parts and FPE mods. There are penalties to research gain but you can play what you find really fun and eventually have all the tanks. No pay-to-win shells. KV-2s. The best friend bucket. Rocket launcher pickup truck. Then in true gaijin fashion this was never changed and they decided they hate their playerbase and refuse to make it less grindy. Parts and FPE are mandatory and get worse to unlock the further up the tech tree you go. Russians didn't like that people decorated everything with Ukrainian flags when their country was trying to invade so all flag decals got locked behind a paywall. Dumb idiots couldn't tell the difference between dead tanks and tanks painted with giant black decals so maximum decal size got nerfed. Russian rifle caliber AA trucks. I'm sure there's more for both columns but hey this is a start.

One of the German insignias can still be blown up to pretty huge and if you use the two sided setting you can still get a pretty solid overlay over the front and sides. Still works for bad players, same with the small bush packs placed over the turret face. To judge the tank game: It's the best tank game out there by a good margin if you appreciate the actual mechanics of tank combat like flanking and such and not just removing hit points from some other metal square. It's got its flaws and the grind is pretty rough but overall there is a lot of good buried in there. Absolutely a better game than WoT at its core, and this is coming from someone who put 10k games into WoT (like 4-5 years ago now admittedly) Don't play arcade tanks though outside of like BR1-BR2.3. You just spray the sky in the general vicinity of the enemy airplane like you're watering your garden with lead and put out an impressive wall of tracers until they die. It for obvious reasons literally defenseless against any ground vehicle unless you flank something like a Marder of Ho-Ro that has exposed crew. Which made me laugh pretty hard when I got ambushed by one when I was driving a Puma the other day.

I drive an is-6 in my Russian lineup and the only time I'm killed at range is HEATFS, ATGM, or a lucky standard round into cupola.

Yeah when I get IS-6 in my Super Hellcat games I tend to avoid them as best as possible and go kill 44s or 54s if I can. Keep track of them in the kill log and when you get to the P-47/AD-2, try to prioritize them for your team. I did have some luck recently getting APCR through the turret, but that poo poo isn't reliable either. That cupola thing seems to be mentioned a bunch when googled, I'll try that out with M82 when I play next. Sounds touchy at best though

When the next big sale comes round, I'm thinking of buying some Golden Eagles in order to get the 17500 crew points thing. However, it looks like you'd have to assign them all to a single crew, but I'm assuming even an already moderately trained up crew will be able to make use of all 17500?
