my god has it really been 21 sessions
  • We opened up with our valiant team sitting in their surveillance blind in the woods surrounding the Mysterious Imperial Base. The base appeared to be much more than it seemed, with large amounts of troopers/AT-ST's doing drills on the parade grounds. You also previously spotted some weird dudes wearing a strange Not-Uniform that nobody really recognizes. You also previously captured an off-duty stormtrooper sergeant, who revealed under duress some more details about the base: confirming that the uniformed dudes (under the leadership of a very off-putting Quarren leader) were some dark and shadowy arm of the Empire that was here on some unknown mission, and that was given free rein of the base.
  • tl;dr, the team relocated to the AT-ST garage, thinking it would be a viable entrance. Doing some scouting, Alis and Gank found what looked like a good entry point: a steam vent. Unfortunately, they were spotted by a duo of stormtroopers walking a patrol along the perimeter (LEDs on Alis's Daft Punk helmet gave it away). Luring the stormtroopers into a chase through the woods, Alis and Gank off them.
  • Alis and Gank pop into the steam vent and start crawling through the base, passing over the kitchens, a locker room, and the base's library. Dropping down into the library, Alis is able to access the base's computer systems via the library terminal, and some triumphant computing work allows her access to several critical systems. She pulls the security logs, patrol schedule, a map of the base, and a complete dump of the sensor logs. She also succeeds in planting false sensor information as part of her secret mission from Alliance Intelligence, which seems to indicate that a large unknown fleet is making its way down the pipe to Imperial Center.
  • The rest of the team arrive in short order via the steam vents, and use the temporarily-cleared-out base library as an impromptu place to discuss the plan and modify some mouse droids. Gunnis soups up his mouse droids to give them a single task: scatter throughout the base and pull as much vital information as possible from the base's computers, using their freshly hot-rodded little engines to do it as speedily as possible. Using a fake halon leak alarm as cover, Gunnis makes his way past the evacuation of the base and into the reactor core, where he plants charges on the fuel tanks.
  • Everybody else makes their way to the prison cell area of the base. After dispatching the few stormtroopers who have stayed behind despite the evacuation, they start to free the prisoners .... only to encounter the dark and imposing form of the unknown Quarren (leader of the shadowy Imperial group) at the other end of the hallway. The Quarren senses the power of the Force within Alis and Zep, immediately recognizes them for what they are, and ignites his red-bladed lightsaber.
  • A short despair/triumph-filled lightsaber duel ensues between Zep and the mysterious darksider, with both sides trading good hits on each other while the rest of the party evacuates the prisoners. Zep is brought close to unconsciousness (2 wounds left!), while he bloodied the Quarren pretty well too with some (he was down to 5 wounds). Gank tries to give Zep a window to escape with the group (and the prisoners) by shooting a coolant duct in the ceiling directly above the Quarren. He misses, but he does land a solid hit on the durasteel plate on the ceiling, which tumbles down on top of the Quarren. The Quarren retreats with the intention to fight another day, as the rest of the group evac with the prisoners.
  • On the rooftop shuttle platform, Gunnis activates one of the two shuttles (a standard-issue Lambda-class shuttle) and prepares it for takeoff. The other shuttle, a similar Lambda-class but painted entirely black and sealed tight, proved to be uncrackable. After trying to brute-force his way through, it's revealed that the mysterious black shuttle is... filled with water? And the group leaves it behind. The mouse droids also return, drifting around corners with their adorable little souped-up engines.
  • From the safety of their stolen Lambda-class shuttle, Gunnis remote-detonates the charges planted at the base, and the entire facility goes up in a massive explosion.
  • In the post-credits scene, we see the base and the woods surrounding it reduced to rubble, ash, and fire. A lone figure (the Quarren), near death, pulls himself along the ground. His hand reaches out for purchase on the ground and finds a boot. Looking up through the ash and flame, the Quarren sees the owner: the tall, imposing, bearded, and regal figure of Travgen (the pyramid dude and totally not a fallen Jedi). Lightning arcs in the smoky background and we cut to black.

Outer Rim News
  • The planet Lianna, focal point of the Greater Tion Sector and home of the Santhe-Sienar Technologies conglomerate, has seen a change of leadership. The departure of the late Lord Ronin Verpalion as Imperial Governor left something of a power vacuum on the planet, as a successor was not immediately named by the Emperor or the Council of Moffs. Lady Santhe-Sienar, corporate head of Santhe-Sienar Technologies, has stepped up and offered her services as a uniting figure on the planet. Pending the official announcement of the new Imperial Governor, Lady Sienar serves as the de facto leader of Lianna.
  • Alliance Intelligence, working with Terri Karl’s rebel cell in the capital city of Lola Curich and based on information obtained by a Rebel special forces unit, suspect that Lady Sienar herself harbors anti-Imperial tendencies. Whether this means she secretly supports the Alliance is a whole other question. (Un)fortunately, Terri Karl also suspects that Lady Santhe-Sienar’s health has been declining, and she has transferred many of her corporate duties to her pro-Imperial son, Phillip Santhe.

  • The Imperial Army has succeeded in restoring order to the planet Murkhana, located on the border of the Auril and Tion Sectors. For several months, a civil war has been raging between Imperial loyalists in the Porvati Syndicate and the Neo-Separatist movement led by the so-called New Murkhana Corporate. Backed up by outdated technologies from the Clone Wars, the Neo-Separatists were no match for the might and solidarity of the Galactic Empire.
  • The Alliance has chalked this one up as a defeat -- for now. Word out of Murkhana has been sporadic, but things don’t seem to be entirely what the Holonet reports them to be. The Imperial Navy blockade of the planet has partially succeeded in starving the rebellion faction of resources, which they vitally need in order to feed their old Clone Wars-vintage droid factories. As a result of the strategic loss, several of the conglomerates in the rebelling New Murkhana Corporate have been imperialized, and their leaders executed. Not all have been accounted for, however, and Alliance Intelligence officers with previous experience fighting for the old CIS have reported that there’s more on Murkhana than meets the eye.

  • Imperial Navy patrols have reported significant success in their anti-piracy and anti-slaver operations in the corridor between the Tion Cluster and Hutt Space. A trio of Imperial Navy captains, each posing for the camera while clapping ragged-looking slavers in irons, are smiling to the Holonet reporters on the scene. “The good people of the Outer Rim have nothing to fear from slaver scum anymore,” one of the fresh-faced young captains remarks as he flashes a pearly-white smile, “the Empire is here for you.”
  • When a Holonet report is just oozing with ham, you know it’s completely fabricated. The Alliance knows better than to assume slaving has been on the decline in this part of space -- in fact, all signs point to slaver activities remaining completely unchanged. Underworld contacts have verified the presence of a large and well-coordinated operation being run out of neighboring Nam Chorios, ostensibly supervised by Grooza the Hutt. An Alliance special forces team recently liberated a group of slaves from one of Grooza’s gangs, but much work remains to be done to put an end to the situation.

  • Traitor to the Galactic Empire and Mon Calamari menace, the so-called “Admiral” Raddus was recently captured by Imperial forces following a minor scuffle with Rebel scum near the Scarif system. Following his free and fair trial, Raddus was convicted of high treason and sentenced to death. The execution will be broadcast all net/all channels, live on Holonet News Agency.
  • This is a tremendous loss for the Rebellion, but nothing that couldn’t have been anticipated. Raddus was presumed dead at the Battle of Scarif -- I suppose there were some survivors left on his disabled ship after all.


Core Worlds News
  • As a result of the destruction of the luxury cruiser liner Jewel of Coruscant at the hands of Chandrilan terrorists (and corresponding assassination of Grand Moff-Designate Ronin Verpalion), the Imperial Navy has instituted a blockade of the planet Chandrila. Vice Admiral Langree, leader of the Imperial 15th Fleet, reports to the Holonet News Agency that the blockade is purely protective in nature: “The Imperial Navy is here to support the people of Chandrila in standing up to indefensible terror. We are working side-by-side with planetary authorities to secure the planet against further violent attacks.”
  • Alliance assets on Chandrila paint a much different picture than the rosy narrative spouted by the Empire. The Imperial Navy’s blockade amounts to a de facto invasion of the planet. Chandrila’s civilian politicians have either been arrested or have fled into hiding, and Hanna City has been placed under martial law by the new Imperial governor, Vice Admiral Langree. Thankfully, Chandrila has always been a hotbed of Alliance support, and we maintain a strong underground network.

  • The Board of Directors of the Corellian Engineering Corporation have reportedly entered into negotiations with the striking United Front, after a massive traffic control action saw the destruction of several large dry dock facilities in orbit and severe damage to an Imperial patrol craft. This peaceful action on the part of the CEC goes against the will of the Corellian Diktat, who expressed a desire to restore order by force. Li Lemorror, de facto leader of the United Front, has emerged and has been seen engaging in high-level talks at the CEC Campus in Coronet City, and the outlook is positive. Diktat and Imperial spokespeople have declined to comment.
  • Intelligence is stumped on this one. It seems the CEC caved after the massive destruction wrought on her shipyards during the mission to recover the completed CR90. It’s almost as if someone planted the seed in their minds that the best solution would be to negotiate with the strikers, rather than sending in the stormtroopers?

  • The renegade ex-Imperial officer Crix Madine, otherwise known as the "Butcher of Bothawui" for his involvement in the wanton killing of innocent woman and children, has been executed following a failed uprising in the Coronet City Municipal Prison on Corellia. A mugshot of Crix Madine, looking bruised and beaten, flashes on the screen. As you all know, Colonel Madine was apprehended by a group of brave troopers who refused to comply with his orders to massacre civilians, and was sentenced to life imprisonment and hard labor. Order has since been restored to Coronet City Prison after the notorious traitor's unceremonious end.
  • "-imme that drat microphone, corporal!" *The microphone whines with feedback for a moment as someone at Alliance Intelligence jostles to grab the microphone directly from the analyst* "Listen here, Eclipse team. I want you to get in there and punch that Imperial sonofabitch at HoloNet News right in his kriffin' jaw, you hear me!? General Madine OUT." *micdrop*

  • COMPNOR wishes all loyal citizens of the Empire a felicitous Life Day, as the galaxy enters a season of rejoicing, thankfulness, and (above all) patriotic fervor for the New Order. Speaking for Emperor Palpatine, COMPNOR Director Armand Isard addressed throngs of celebrants at Senate Plaza on Imperial Center: “Life Day is a time-honored tradition within our Empire, and I can assure you it is one of the Emperor’s favorite times of the year. The rooms of the Imperial Palace are bedecked with bright and festive decorations, its halls echoing with the sound of joyous celebration. Above all, it is the time of year to give thanks and celebration for the three pillars of your happy life: productivity, security, and love of the Galactic Empire.”
  • Alliance Intelligence has little to say on this report, besides to underscore the extreme unlikelihood that Life Day is the Emperor’s favorite holiday. Senator Mon Mothma, however, treasures the occasion above all else.

It began with a heartfelt trading of gifts between comrades in the rebel base:



Then we were interrupted by Mon Mothma with an important mission: Deliver gifts to The Wheel! Of course, we were caught by the Empire:



Then as we were captured, we found ourselves in the company of a very jolly old Hutt:



We escaped and managed to help Santa get back to his Sleigh-ship. But first there was a battle where we were naughty but for all the nice reasons, and there was a really silly chase scene.

We delivered the presents to the people of The Wheel (including a very downtrodden droid and a precocious child with a very Alderaanian fashion) and there was much merriment from cantina to cantina:

The Dark Side haunted Zep as he moved through the tunnels. As he came face to face with one of the few boogeymen of the Jedi Order, his first thought was to unload on it with his blasters and cut down its minions. However, he swallowed back that inclination and instead demanded the creature surrender and stop its naughty ways.

He's not out of the woods yet. He's still terrified of the creature's capabilities based on the stories told at Jedi sleepovers.
