Pulling the gun on the ISB Agent wasn't too difficult. Zep was already frustrated with his shaky grip of the Force, but he certainly wouldn't have been upset had he been forced to kill an Imperial agent like that. He didn't like forming an alliance with an enemy of the rebellion, but if he played his cards right he could either strengthen the cover of the rebel spy or even better- help capture another ISB agent for questioning. Still, he had to be careful. This one looked much more resourceful than Keeth, and his run-in with Keeth hadn't been the highlight of his career in the Alliance.

The mission ended with a bang, as usual. Pity the hutt mausoleum, but Alis preferred destruction of property to the alternatives. She could have killed the ISB agent, but chose to honor the request of the Rebel operative to bring no harm to her husband. Unfortunately, this "Black Mamba" may have been lying about her handler, "Fitbot". Alis' thoughts turn grim as she considers the ramifications. In the meantime, while she waits to hear back from Aurek Thesh, Alis begins her search for the Bith scientist in earnest. The mission was assassination. Official Junk for the Intermission Missions: Character Creation: -Go nuts. So long as it's in a core or splatbook you can do it. -After character creation, you get +150xp and a bonus 5000credits. Again, go nuts. -If you're Force Sensitive at all, you get the base ability of Suppress for free. You have to have evaded Alis and Zep's notice somehow. You could have shown up at Temple Base while they were off-world on their most recent mission, but I like giving you Suppress for free in these dangerous times. -I recommend posting the characters here when you get the chance so we don't end up with 6 sharpshooters (which might be fine). -These missions will be more combat-based, so keep that in mind. There is also a good chance for some space combat. Ships: -Here are the options for the ship. Remember, this will be a part of the Rebel Base fleet, so I want you guys to choose stuff you'll want rather than me just GIVING you something embarrassing. -I chose the ships that would make the most sense for hauling scrap and debris back to the base, so pretty much only higher capacity freighters are listed. -TWO FREE ATTACHMENTS!!! -If there are more than one pilot the extra pilots will get one of the Z-95 Headhunters to pilot. -Also note: I'm cribbing HT-2200 Medium Freighter Space Master Medium Transport YZ-775 medium transport

Voting Spacemaster or the HT-2200 for the ship (in that order). Those things are the perfect level of "big, clunky, and cheap/ubiquitous enough to be common in the Rebellion". I'm going back-and-forth on character concept for an intermission character. Tentatively leaning toward a stabthief type, or maybe a combat medic. So it looks like so far the intermissions crew consists of a non-combat analyst (Azhais), a shootguy (Darius), and a stabthief or medic (Drone). Two votes for Spacemaster, one for a YZ-775, and one for an HT-2200 (as a secondary vote).

However, a mission was still a mission. Could things have gone any other way, she wondered. She ran through the scenarios: disappearing the Bith on her own onboard the Sunrise would have merely aroused suspicion during the voyage back to Yondra. Intercepting him back at Grooza's outpost while being escorted by Zep was out of the question. It had to happen on the ship, it had to happen quickly, and it had to happen for a legitimate reason known to the team. They had to know that his fate was a result of his crimes against sapient life. The method? She wasn't great with a blaster. It was either by saber or the Force. She chose the latter, because no one, not even her own team, and certainly not the Bith, would see it coming. In the moment it felt electrifying, as if the energy of the entire cosmos was at her fingertips. As if she knew her place in the galaxy. But now she just felt the all too familiar cold. And she wasn't feeling any more aware of her destiny, if she even had one. "I'm sorry, Zep," she whispered to herself as she contemplated these things in her room aboard the Sunrise. Her helmet sat on the computer chair. She was sitting on the floor, arms around knees, next to the suit of Nubian power armor she was tinkering with from time to time. Maybe she should ask Gunnis for help with that? If he's even willing to help, she thought. Then Zep's words to her rang through her mind. "You disgust me." She gave a small, bitter laugh. "Yeah, I disgust me too." Maybe in the past she would have felt more remorseful, even if it was a direct mission from Alliance Intelligence. After experiencing life as a Rebel agent, with an assortment of high-profile missions under her belt, it didn't seem to matter as much. Her retort was therefore simple. "But this is war," she said to herself. She felt a little conviction from that, enough to get up from off the floor and start thinking about the way ahead. She wanted to get in touch with Aurek Thesh to inform him about the completion of the mission, and maybe request that she didn't get wetwork from this point on. It would only create problems if she did. She'll ask Captain Gunnis to explain the circumstances of her mission to the rest of the crew in private. She had the other Bith to deal with. It was only a matter of time before he would get suspicious. She certainly didn't want him accusing the team of anything to Yondra. But he wasn't a mission target, so he would live, at least. And, she needed a way to figure out how to control the Force. Maybe "that lady" would know. She decided it would be best to avoid Zep for now. At least not before she got things together a little better. And now for my B-Team character: Specialist Vash Akrezc Rodian Born into poverty and crime on the surface of Rodia, Vash had few friends, being considered stupid among other Rodian children because of a speech defect he had as a child. By his teens, his parents were gone so often, with his father being an exceptionally poor enforcer for a small time crime family. He was on his own by 12, and constantly dodging slavers as he stole and begged to stay alive. During one particularly bad encounter, while fleeing from slavers, he found himself cornered in a loading bay. Desperate to escape, he pulled a small maintenance cover off of a shuttle, and managed to crawl inside. Tearing and clawing his way free into the interior, he had successfully avoided capture, but was unaware that the unmanned cargo shuttle would soon be departing. After the initial shock at the fact that it had taken off, Vash began to tear at wires and press buttons in an attempt to stop the shuttle. Unwittingly, he had knocked the shuttle off course, a fact he soon would regret as it crashed into SVV-4047 - a massive and ancient space station, long abandoned in orbit of Rodia's moons. Crawling from the wreckage, Vash quickly found that the interior of the 4047 was very much alive, a thriving ecosystem of unusual plant, animal, and semi-sentient life having flourished in the absence of most sentients. With time, he would find there were some other higher life forms on the station, in the form of a variety of gangs and a group of pirates who operated out of one of the hangar decks. Alone, and without so much as a knife to start, Vash was only able to survive by lurking in the shadows, stealing and salvaging what he could. After what seemed like a lifetime, but was only a few years, Vash came across another, one who had also known poor fortune in crashing into the station, but who would help him leave behind the life of desperation he had grown up in. Character Sheet Talent Trees Vash is distant and focused. He is most often a loner and is slow to trust others. He can be very blunt and has been prone to make threats to those who seem a threat to him, or to his material wealth. He is very stealthy. He is often strange and has a variety of unusual habits. It seems that he respects the tenets of the Alliance more out of convenience than commitment. He is usually seen in Alliance fatigues and carrying a minimal amount of gear in his small packs. When on a mission he wears combat armor with a helmet, painted for the environment and with a variety of pieces appropriate to the terrain attached everywhere, and carries a customized blaster rifle designed for long range fire.

My interlude character: Volunteer Pradus-penorr Thanium Train Folk (Near-Human) Soldier (Medic) It is told in the Holy Guidebook that God and his Conductors keep a record of us all, influencing our Itinerary as we make our way through the tunnels of life. And so the Elders decreed, after ingesting the holy herbs and communing with the spirit of the Train God itself, that the path of Pradus of the Penorr Tribe was outside the underground warrens of his people. A young hunter with a strong aptitude for medicine, Pradus was sent out from the warrens on a mission to seek out the recently-encountered offworlders who had aided the Train Folk against the forces of darkness. In return for their aid, Pradus was offered as a gift and cultural ambassador to the strange offworlders. Arriving at the warren called "Temple Base" alone, Pradus-penorr offered his services to the outsiders, calling themselves "the Alliance." His skill in the medicinal arts was unquestionable, and the strange offworlders found themselves somewhat surprised that the medical practices of the Train Folk were not so primitive as once thought. Pradus's skill with his ancient compound bow, handed down through the generations, was also quite convincing -- so much so that Gunnis Bishop saw fit to give it a few modernizing upgrades, with Pradus's permission. Now Pradus's mission is simple: serve the Train Folk by serving the Alliance; learn more about these strange outsiders and their ways; and fulfill the Itinerary created for him by the Train God and his holy Conductors. Character Sheet Pradus is something of a stranger in a strange land, and often seems very naive about the outside world when compared to others. His Basic isn't fantastic and he occasionally stumbles over words or uses strange terminology for things. Overall he is a pious worshipper of the Train God, but he has an open mind to other religious traditions. He is non-judgmental when faced with diversity, and carries no prejudice towards people from different backgrounds/creeds/races/etc. He is extremely dedicated to his holy task, even though his loyalty to the ideals of the Rebellion is debatable, given his tribal background. He is, however, loyal to the Rebellion itself, and specifically to the crew of the Sunrise, as they saved his people from certain destruction at the dark hands of the Sith monster living below the city. In matters relating to medicine and combat, he is a consummate professional, though he maintains his own rituals when it comes to practicing both. Temple Base - Medical Section Vash floated in the tank. He had tried to climb out once already, but found his limbs too weak. Figures moved outside, usually not coming close enough for any detail, but they had often enough for Vash to know he was back in the hands of the humans whose rebellion he worked for. Thoughts tended to become disassociated when floating in the tank. He was having a hard time focusing on anything. Memories kept intruding on conscious thought. He kept seeing the insides of the vents again and again. He couldn't tell anymore when they were from. Was this the first time? Was this the false time? Was this the real time? He continued to tap his fingers against the glass in a rhythm, it was one that he could never get out of his head now. A little jingle for a drink he had never heard of, that likely hadn't been produced in a thousand years. The broken vending machine played it out over and over in the hallway outside his bolthole on B-deck. What a strange experience it had been to hear that tune every day for years on end, and then to finally taste Zorbatt, the champala-lime spritz with a twist that you have to drink to understand. The first day he heard the song again, he broke open the vending machine and dragged the entire contents into the vent. He leaned forward, trying instinctively to rest his head against the glass, but again being stopped by the mask and tubes attached to his face. Instead, he hung forward from it, his fingers in front of him tapping the theme yet again. It would be good to get out soon. Vash hoped that the others had collected his stockpile in engineering. He wanted his share.
