I wonder if people didnt buy hitman after the preorder debacle and early access release structure were announced and then didnt buy it when it was out cause they watched hours of content online that they knew was much more creative and funny than they would be.

Absolution was also really disappointing and that usually affects the sequels more than the bad game itself.

that's a huge investment. independent studios fold because they don't realize that paying six people a competitive salary is 300k/yr

god drat you're getting defensive about a game that i wanna play but don't have the hardware to, i'm not saying it's a badgame jesus christ

It's pretty dumb to question the profit involved when Atlus thinks it's very successful and we don't know poo poo about the budget of the game

No. It's only Genealogy of Holy war and the 3DS games that have it as an actual mechanic. Genealogy wasn't released outside Japan.

I am. I wouldn't mind playing a few new metroidvanias every single year.

I would be happy playing new SRPGs and metroidvanias all the time instead anything else if they just released enough of them.

Ehh, depends on what you consider "interesting". It's true that you probably aren't going to find anything amazingly useful that transforms the gameplay or a "deep" hunk of content in a Serious Gaming sense, but you could find a cool looking mountain or a village tucked behind a hill or whatever and for some people and moods that's worth the time.

This is definitely just a taste thing.

Minecraft doesn't do it for me at all. I think I played it for like 2-3 hours before I got bored of it.

i think i'm probably gonna stop drinking alcohol entirely :(

in the past 2 years i've barely drank any alcohol because i've been having a lot of dental work (and therefore a lot of painkillers) and i'm not dumb enough to drink even a single beer while taking acetaminophen (my dentist stubbornly refusing to give me percodan, which is oxycodone and aspirin, instead of hydrocodone and acetaminophen, or give me whatever they call hydrocodone/aspirin)

last night i had literally less than half a beer and i felt a weird kinda-hangover this morning (it's gone now, but still)

i don't seem to have any of the really obvious signs of liver damage but i'm a hypochondriac already and to be perfectly honest i don't even like how alcohol makes me feel anymore

oh well. at least weed doesn't involve the liver.

I haven't ever been able to drink alcohol thanks to my medication. I've gotten drunk exactly twice in my lifetime (both times I deliberately didn't take my meds for like a week so I could do it).

BOTW is obviously not going to hit some people as hard others since so much of it relies on finding joy in the exploration. If the exploration doesn't grab you then BOTW is not going to be the amazing experience its fans are praising it for.

Personally, BOTW is one my favorite games. It's literally the only open world game ever where I've actually gotten into the exploration just for the sake of it.
