How long after the comp was the vote because I could see that influencing Christmas' decision.

With Paul out of the running, is anyone standing out as fan favorite for the ring vote? Christmas? I voted Cody as a reward for all the drama but I do kind of regret it a bit. Alex was my other choice but I'd like to see her win something better.

It's too soon to tell but I'd say Christmas has to be the favorite at this point, if only due to proximity to Paul.

No kidding. Talk about over-playing. The thing is, Paul doesn't even need to worry about retribution next week since he's safe. So if he nominates Cody and Jessica and somehow Cody wins POV and uses it on himself, Jessica goes home but Paul doesn't have to worry about Cody coming after him if Cody wins HOH.

Just nominate Alex and Jason. If one of them wins veto, that's what you want to happen anyway.

They'd be dumb to pick Cody or Jess in houseguests choice because neither of those two would use the power knowing the other would be the replacement.

I find Paulie worse than Cody.

Cody is a weirdo more than anything and I think Jess eggs on a lot of the crap he does. He also seems like he's mentally hosed up from serving.

Paulie seems totally aware but thinks it's cool or funny to be a humongous piece of poo poo human being and that's always worse to me.

Truther Vandross
Jun 17, 2008

The problem with Paul's game is that what he does make a lot of sense to advance in the house but it's such surface level horseshit that it unravels easily as hell once the jury is all together so he stands almost no chance.

Truther Vandross

I doubt the Jason's wife thing will come up simply because there's too much other stuff that isn't as touchy that is worth airing.

A lot of the problem this season with translating the Jody villainy to the episodes is that so much of it doesn't translate well to television. Not withstanding the tranny stuff that they never show, a lot of what made them hated was them completely isolating themselves from everyone for an entire week and just talking about how great and smart they are in the HOH room. You might be able to air a few seconds of that on TV, but the persistence of it was a big reason why they became so hated to feedsters.

They just separate themselves and then repeat the same nauseating poo poo over and over again and that's not something that's going to play well in the episodes.

We can go back and forth on the pots and pans thing all day, but everyone knows if Cody could control himself, they'd still be letting Josh do it and that, to me, isn't right. Cody's temper is on Cody, not Josh, and if he can't control it, that's his problem.

If they pots and pans thing was universally disallowed, that's one thing. But as STAC said, they've always allowed it and the difference in this case is that Cody is a psycho, so they're making Josh stop, which is total bullshit.

Escort in the traditional sense is probably a little far from the truth.

They meet famous people at work and then end up going on free vacations with them where they likely gently caress or what not but it's less an escort type deal than just having a really wealthy gently caress buddy.

Paul's entire game is predicated on everyone being a giant idiot, which works a lot, but is ultimately a very dangerous path to walk. It's been a massive house of cards both times and it can topple at literally any minute. A lot of the big fights get instigated by Paul when something happens that might threaten that. As much as he tries to act like he plays a long game, he's very reactive and will pretty much say anything in the moment to get his way.

Christmas is probably the biggest threat to him in terms of exposing his game, which is why he's not so subtly trying to set up the dominoes for her to fall. And she's doing a fantastic job with Josh, which is ultimately going to lead to Paul's downfall IMO.

As for Paul instigating drama, again, I can't lay that poo poo at his feet. He's definitely an instigator, but he's mostly done so from recognizing flashpoints in the house and acting on them. No one in the house has not seen a single episode of the show, so if all common sense goes out the window the moment they enter the game and see Paul, then that is 100% their fault. Paul being a troublemaker doesn't really irk me much because anyone with half a brain should be able to realize what he is doing assuming he is actually manipulating them to do something they normally wouldn't do. A functioning adult, after the fact, can tell when they've been manipulated. Paul being fake also doesn't irk me because this whole loving show is designed around falseness. The show lies through omission and is completely dishonest with its audience constantly. Having a dude hamming it up from the camera is the least of its problems when actual bigots are getting not only a free pass, but a positive edit and are welcomed with applause both times they are eliminated.

This is kind of bullshit IMO. Nobody can be made to do something, but instigating all of these situations absolutely carries some responsibility.

It's not illegal or whatever but he's absolutely a little shithead whose actions have caused like 90% of the major blowups the last two seasons.

I don't think it's as easy as handwaving it on the people being stupid. It's a high pressure scenario and even reasonable people have clouded judgment in situations like this. He also tends to strike most when the iron is hot and rational thought isn't really something there's time or space for.

Everything Paul does is centered around the belief that he is a genius mastermind and everyone else is retarded.

Literally all Paul had to do was not be condescending to people on their way out and own what he did to the final jury. Two very simple things that had no bearing whatsoever on his ability to last in the game. And he refused to do them.

He has nobody to blame but himself.
