I'd put ~$500 as a good general baseline, so like $300 for a pair of speakers and $200 for a receiver [probably refurb], if you bump the speakers up to $600ish there's a million good options obviously from there the prices increase to infinity

the only real early decision you need to make is if you're good with stereo or want to go surround [imo surround is for when you get bored of a really good 2.1 system] I wrote a big :words: post in iyg about it
