There are a couple differences in emphasis and allegation of fact that have led me down an either interesting or dumb train of thought:

1: The image conjured (to me) by the dossier's language is of a bunch of hookers lining up to piss directly onto the bed and vicariously onto Obama (Unless the use of the term 'golden showers' is meant to always imply a human face getting pissed on?). However Comey's language solely describes "prostitutes peeing on each other" neglecting to mention the bed/Obama narrative.

2: What could account for the difference in the conception of the event other than Comey having a source of info besides the dossier?

3: What other source could there be that was credible enough for the then head of the FBI? TAPE DON'T LIE.

4: This would mean that the FBI has had the tape since before he was fired (1+ yrs), and also that they have been inhumanly discrete about it's existence.

5: The discretion means that Comey's willingness to say this indicates two things. One is that he likely had Mueller's blessing, the other is that he was allowed to because it served a purpose for the investigation.

6: It serves two purposes. One is to spread the allegations in detail as wide as possible (and not just that there was a "salacious allegation" as much of the media had called it since that could just mean an affair), the other is to not dismiss their credibility out of hand. The reason these things must be done The reason to not TL;DR all this...

7: Mueller is gonna release the tape/enter it into evidence when charges are filed.

8: Trump's decision not to sit down with Mueller has reportedly shortened the investigation by up to two months, and a report on obstruction of justice could be filed by end of April instead of late June. The whole investigation was originally supposed to wrap up by end of the year but now may finish in the fall (i.e. election time).

The 2018 Mid-Terms will be a referendum on the Piss Tape
